So I was in Wildwood NJ on the boardwalk yesterday when I happened upon this place:

I went in wondering if they had Skylanders, and to my surprise, they actually did: a rather large amount of them, too. But there was one problem:

95% of the stock is priced ludicrously high. Basically $25 for a normal common giant. $15 for a normal charcter EVEN Spyro's Adventure. You can see to the side there a Series 1 Stealth Elf for 14.95.

The only interesting thing was that he also had some legendary TRU figures, but they were Series 1 and they were also too much money, though I forget how much. I'd say the only thing worth buying here was the legendaries, if anything. I would have taken more pictures, but I didn't want to be rude.

Yay! A fellow New Jerseyan!

That's insane. $19 for a ridiculously common figure? Yup, NJ is notorious for being full of eBayers.

Aye, these type of stores basically function as a storefront brick-and-mortar venue for secondary market/eBay Sellers. There's one near here in Charlotte, NC ... they're always spamming Craigslist with their ads, including Skylanders.

The only advantage I can think of for these stores (from the Buyer's POV) is not worrying about shipping or the possibility of getting scammed on eBay. But you're going to pay eBay-level prices for Skylanders at this type of store, even for loose/used items and for common items, too.

I can somewhat justify the price given that it's brick and mortar...but noted advantages are good. Every time I hear of Craig's list I shudder b/c of the safety factor. Series 1 stuff has all but disappeared from shelves, so secondary market will stabilize eventually.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.

Yeah I don't want to be mean to the guy who runs this shop. I think he could use a better method to determine what to charge for individual Skylanders, but if you did want to find a legendary Skylander in a shop I guess I can recommend looking in this store.

Just go to target/walmart. I just found 1 tonight, it was in the back. They have been re-released.

There was no Darklight Crypt, just the others for at least $10 more than I found them in Target last week.

At first I read that as "DownLoadable Content" and went cross-eyed thinking about how to explain everything that was wrong with that sentence, LOL!

Lol! I always do that when I hear that term. I wonder if it's intentional on the part of the devs.
