I just hit level 32 and now have the quest to build a potter. With it taking 2200 Mabu to build it and only having 174 I'm having to get a lot of Mabu. The quickest and easiest way seems to be buying Slab Stone Houses, but at 1.5 million a piece it becomes pretty expensive (6 million just to get to 2000). There are cheaper ways (even as low as 3 million), but it would take a lot of space, which I'm actually running out of if I want to keep space for troll/sheep/chompy spawns. So I was wondering what methods you all use (and winning a bunch of bed & breakfasts in the well don't count ).
Here's another perspective:
Would it be better to keep the quest to the side and wait until I build up more gold at a later point? I guess it all balances out, in the end, but I'm thinking there may be better ways to spend my gold to earn more gold. There may not be a way to earn more gold since I'm maxed out on adventure balloons and gold doesn't really buy much that earns more gold. I do have one more island to purchase, which would give me another sanctuary. I've also been thinking about going ahead and spinning for Skylanders. I have 9 million, so I wouldn't have enough to buy the slab houses and a Skylander spin, at this point, and I know there will be more buildings to buy later.

I have a similar quest (to have a Circus for 5000 mabu). Right now I'm more interested in spinning for the remaining skylanders I don't have so I'm just letting the quest sit. Otherwise, your options are to buy expensive houses (I agree that 2x2 houses are the best in terms of space consumed), spin for bed and breakfasts (not sure you can do that before level 36) or remove other buildings that currently consume mabu to make room (for example, sell 3 lighthouses and you can free up 2400 mabu). Better yet, store them if you have the capacity. Selling or storing them frees up the committed mabu. The only downsides are that if you want the building back later you will need to rebuild it (which takes time--this problem is eliminated if you store the building rather than selling it) and you will need to free up sufficient mabu again. I'm not personally interested in freeing up mabu by selling community buildings because community buildings are the best kingdom xp generators. The potter is a nice XP generator (especially if you check your game frequently) but you need to consider the xp you'd be sacrificing to get it.

I've got a few outposts, a couple towers, and the rest are slab houses, acorn houses, and boat houses. Eventually, space will become more valuable than gold. Best way to earn gold imho is halls of legend. I have skylander houses, but I know those cost gems.

Now that I finally have a few shrines (picked up a couple when they were half off the other day) I will hopefully get a Hall of Legends. I already have over 200 wish stones saved up, this month. I'm averaging about 100 a week (a little more now that I have 2 more shrines as I had 100 in the first week before I bought the other 2 shrines). I'm sure I have enough to get the alt in October and still have a couple of weeks to save. |

I had the same thoughts when I got that quest. However for some previous quests I had out in more mines and something else (chompy cafe? thing), so I got rid of all of those apart from one of each as I assume that quests involving those buildings are finished, and that freed up a few mabu.
