I honestly think people call him a girl just to annoy him, and nothing else. Or it also could be a rumor someone spread and everyone magically believes it for some reason or another.

Clearly, IT is a mutation the likes of which even the Simic couldn't create and that even the Rakdos find horrifying. The Dimir have no way to break into its mind, the Azorius arrest it for just existing, and the Boros' best men can't face it without their eyes melting. It smells so bad that the Golgari throw up if it is anywhere near them, the Orzhov treat it like an offspring of Rakdos and Satan, the Izzet no longer have the curiosity to see what is inside of organic beings, and Selesnya, whom love all life equally, demand it to be killed. The worst thing however, is that the Gruul think that it is so barbarous that it makes them look like good natured citizens.
