I just reached level 30 but it shows 'LOCKED' at the XP meter because I have not yet reached the requirement of 8 Skylanders at level 12 to advance to level 31.

Now I'm wondering if it's still useful to gather XP?
Is it recorded but simply not shown or is it useless because you will always start at zero XP once you get the 8 level 12 Skylanders?

Exp doesn't bank.

The only thing you can do is not collect from the sheep and troll prison. Then once you unlock the level cap collect from it.

Shouldn't you be able to get to level 40?

Not if you don't have the 8 Skylanders at level 12 requirement to get past 30. Once you level up your Skylanders to 12 then you can move on.

Thanks, I feared as much.
All my level eleven Skylanders are now adventuring like mad so I can move on to kingdom level 31.

Yea, make sure to save up troll prison and sheep shearer. I got almost 100k xp out of those two when they raised cap to 40.

I will try to, I still catch myself clicking on XP shields without thinking. Hard to kick the habit.
