[OOC: I'm bored, subplot time!]
He had no idea where he was, no recollection of how he got there. There were no landmarks to be found. Even with his night vision, Foxtail couldn't make anything out in the endless darkness.
Terrified, but curious, he wandered about in the foggy curtain of blackness. For some time, he came across nothing, and was starting to wonder if there was anybody else here. His question was answered when a man sitting on a bench came into view.
The man was clad in a Cold War era business suit, but Foxtail had difficulty making out any facial features. The man didn't seem to notice the fennec kit at first; his attention was fixed on something ahead. That's when the scene unveiled itself before his eyes. On the far side of the clear blue waters of a large lake sat a small town built upon a hilly peninsula, a giant mushroom cloud, presumably the result of a recent struggle, stood among the clouds. The man showed no apparent emotion or reaction to the explosion, as if he had known that it was destined to happen.
Despite not trusting humans under normal circumstances, the man was the first being he had seen in a while, and Foxtail decided to approach; that's when the man finally acknowledged the fox's presence.
"It's a tragedy, isn't it?"
Foxtail was taken aback by his statement, not sure how to respond.
"Um, I guess, sure."
The man invited Foxtail to sit with him, and he warily accepted.
"So, who are you?"
"Me? The name's Foxtail."
"Foxtail, eh? Well, Foxtail, I've never seen anything quite like you, and that's saying something. So, what's your story?"
After some hesitation, Foxtail proceeded to tell the man everything that had happened to him as of late, but was cut short when he mentioned Stealth Elf.
"Oh, that poor girl..."
Foxtail was on guard immediately. He folded his ears back and growled slightly.
"What do you mean? Did you do something to her? TELL ME!"
"Now just calm down, little guy. I think you have the wrong impression about me. I'm not the bad guy here."
"Oh, really? Then who is it?"
*After a long pause* "██████████."
"Do you mind telling me who that is?"
The man chuckled to himself and spoke in a playful tone.
"I'll let you figure that out on your own."

"Foxtail?
Foxtail!"
Foxtail woke up with a jolt. The man was gone, and he was in a hotel room, laying on a bed. Lotus stood beside him, giving a look of concern.
"You were talking in your sleep, and I was worried about you. Are you okay?"
"Yeah... I'm fine...."
Lotus was still concerned. She edged closer to him, placing one of her paws on his shoulder.
"Well, obviously not, you're shaking. What's wrong?"
Foxtail took a deep breath and looked into her sky blue eyes.
"Well... you know how sometimes there are those dreams that are there to tell you something? I had one of those. I think Stealth Elf might be in trouble."
He climbs down off of the bed.
"And I'm going to go see if I can do anything."
"Well, if you're going, then I'm coming too."
"No, no, you should stay here. I don't want you to get hurt."
He walks over to the door of the apartment.
"If I'm not back soon, send help."
And with that, he exited the room.
Lotus gave a contented sigh as she curled up on the bed. There was a certain aspect about a male that wasn't strictly devoted to her that she liked. She reassured herself that he would be fine, laid her head down, covered her nose with her sweep/tail, and dozed off.
