I think the OP is justified in making a new post, the title of the other thread gives no indication of what the topic is about.

I say merge the other one with this, and pray members learn how to create descriptive thread titles for everyone's sake.

Just checked my local Walmart nothing but same. Empire of ice, dragons peak, and pirate seas, but I did notice some new ssa figures I didn't see a few days ago specifically 3 voodood which I thought was weird so if anyone is looking for him and can cover cost and shipping I'd be glad to help them out.

Where in NY are you again, cause long island stores don't carry these packs, never ever have they had adventure packs at least since JAN when I started looking.

My walmarts like lloyd don't carry adventure packs, i've never seen them since i started in Jan collecting skylanders. I'm not talking one, im talking like 6 walmarts I check. I have seen adventure packs at walmarts out of state in PA but those are supercenters with markets in them, which none on long island have (thou valley stream is in the process of turning into one) I may check there tomorrow it's where i found drobot series 2 first.

I always assume when this sort of rare find happens that it's just apathetic employees who never bothered to properly display all the Skylanders evenly. Like they just tossed as many on the shelf as would fit and shoved the rest in the back room.

Except these are being found by several people and also at Target, so there must have been some shipments that went out.

If I do a search for the single S2 Bash in my area on Targets website it tells me that every store in a 100 mile radius has them. Problem is none of them do.

It's because they share the same DICP (or whatever it's called). So it's basically just telling you that store has singles in stock ie the 9.99 ones like spyro, gill, trigger, hex, slam bam etc. So every single will show in stock even if the store only has flashwing.

Unfortunately, the way Target stocks and inventories their Skylanders, their computer system can not tell the difference between a Darklight Crypt pack and any other SSA-generation Adventure Pack. Same thing applies with most Giants-generation single packs and triple packs. It's possible for a Target store to have only Flashwing singles, Swarm singles, Lightcore Drobot singles, Stump Smash/Sprocket/Sonic Boom Triple Packs, and Empire of Ice Adventure Packs ... but in that case, the inventory system would still show dozens of other Skylanders as being "In-Stock", when in actuality, the store is (very) sold out.

The only time Target's computer inventory system can be useful at all during your "hunts" is when you're "hunting" for a Target-exclusive item, since those USUALLY have a unique entry in Target's database.

My point just more detailed. Also to add. Gnarly, scarlet, and jade had there own target number. Idk if granite did or didn't as he was gone before I started looking.

The way I keep hearing it on these forums is that it's completely certain, set in stone that they won't work in Swap Force, at least to unlock a level... If I recall correctly, I even saw a YouTube video where someone was interviewing the game makers, and they said outright that they won't unlock levels in Swap Force...

HEY! Checked if I could find it in my history and scored! Here you go:

Adventure Packs: The power up pieces will work in Swap Force but the levels themselves won't work.

That's pretty much how all stores do it. Whatever will come in the same case assortment (not counting for different waves) is how they order them (singles, giants, triple packs, adventure packs, etc). So that's how they keep up with them in their inventory. Certain variants and exclusives (like Scarlet Ninjini, Gnarly Tree Rex, Jade Flashwing, etc) have their own case assortment and ordered separately. So they have their own inventory number. So you will never find a store (at least major store) they tracks them individually. I'm not sure how Amazon does it. Since they don't have the ability to just put out all the Skylanders and sell whatever sells, they have to keep track of them individually. So they don't really count.

Bar codes and SKUs/DCPIs/etc are different things. Your receipt at Walmart may show the bar code, but they still keep inventory differently. You can't check to see if Walmart has a particular Skylander. You may be able to order them separately online, but you can't do an in-store check. When they do an inventory, they only look to see how many of each type of figure they have and not individual figures.

Here's another though that I just had, especially for those stores that show that they have lots of Molten Hot Dogs. At least once a year stores will have people come in and do an actual physical inventory. That helps them know what they really have instead of relying solely on the computer (which can be wrong for many reasons like I mentioned above). The problem occurs when the person doing the inventory doesn't understand the differences (especially as most companies hire an outside company to do the inventory). They do it by counting the products, scanning one of them and entering in the number they counted. Since Molten Hot Dog's package looks exactly like the rest of the Skylanders Giants single figure packages, it is possible that they scanned Molten Hot Dog as the item they were counting and entered the total for all the Skylanders Giants single packs because they didn't realize they were different SKUs. They don't scan each individual figure. Say, for instance (since I used to collect Star Wars) that they counted 50 Star Wars figures. They would just scan the first one and enter 50 into the system. If one of those figures had it's own SKU for whatever reason, that would throw off the count. It becomes more difficult when stores have different SKUs for things that are similar (which is another reason they don't have separate SKUs for different figures). I remember when I worked at KB Toys years ago and we did inventory ourselves that we had to watch for that. Luckily KB Toys had the SKU numbers on the price sticker (which every item had to have). Walmart and most other stores doesn't even have price stickers, not less the SKU numbers and with the millions of items that they carry, they aren't going to take the time to find out. So it's highly possible that those stores that are showing 100+ Molten Hot Dogs (which I believe no store ever got that many) might actually be 100 Flashwings smilie
