Meanwhile, everyone in the Skylander forums is celebrating 9/11 by rushing to GameStop to buy the Pumpking Eye Brawl released today.

Those poor people and there poor familys.. gosh it must have been so hard for them.

I remember that horrible day, and though I do not live there, even so, I give a big silence for those who did not survive, for those who lost family members, and give thanks all the rescuers who did their best effort.

I apologise if it came out that way, but it was meant to be a slam at Skylanders and how it would've been better to release a grim looking figure such as that (even if it is a cartoony looking toy of a pumkin headed guy) on any other day.

We can't focus solely on the tragedy 9/11 on this date every year. We should of course remember it but sorry to say, the world still moves on.

My uncle was in one of the Twin Towers during the time, but thankfully he was able to escape.

we were dscussing this in class yesterday. why should a terrible event that killed around 3000 people be remembered every year, when there were far worse that have happened to other countries by the usa's own hand?

Of course there were heroes! People should take time to remember those who died during Pearl Harbor, World War II, World War I, The Revolutionary War, and for god sakes. Nothing at all happened in honor of those that died during the civil war on the 150th anniversary of the war in 2011. You could compare this to the tsunami in Japan too. So many people died and are still dying because of that tsunami and the radiation. What about the atomic bombs that were dropped? So many people have died every single day. What I wanted to say was, life goes on. People have to keep moving. Someone shouldn't be berated for talking about something else on a day people in history died because people have died every day throughout history. Disasters have happened we don't even know about. 9/11 was just one that resonated with the entire country. I'm not saying you shouldn't honor those who died, just don't honor those who died because of one thing over those who died from something else.

And that, is why I said what I said. Probably the most in depth I have ever gone with something on this forum.

Edit: I'd also like to add that if your family or relatives were in 9/11 or any disaster or disease, I completely understand why this is so important to you.

We all celeabrate that stuff!!! But today just so happeneds to be this specific date!!!

It depends on how you approach it. I tend to focus more on all the first responders who put themselves at serious risk when they had to respond to the Towers' collapse. Many of them garnered debilitating or terminal injuries or diseases as a result of their extremely selfless actions. <.<

Many of the kids in that section were either too young to know about what happened, or weren't even born until afterwards. Cut them some slack.

And things are released every day of the year. Activision isn't the first to release something on 9/11, and they won't be the last. And they certainly didn't do it out of some sort of spite or with intentions to disrespect people.

The three affected areas were the Twin Towers, the US Pentagon, and a valley in Shanksville, Pennsylvania (this plane was saved by brave passengers). Buildings can be replaced, but not the lives of these people that died. Every year on this date, we will always remember the victims and their families.

My teacher had a friend that died on that plane. She told us about the phone call he made with his mother.

This is what he said (not exact wording, only from what I remember.)

"Hey, so, the plane I'm on has been hijacked, and apparently were going to crash into (whatever it was, I can't remember exactly). Me and some other passengers are going to try to stop them, I don't know if I'll live or not, so I wanted to call and say I love you. Bye."

That's what I remember, It's probably missing details and wording and stuff. The sad thing was, he nearly missed the plane, and just barely made it. If he was one minute later, he would've missed the plane, and would still be alive today.

I was told this two or three years ago, so my memory has faded. The teacher also had a vial of ashes from the crash, and she told us it could either be a plane seat, plane wing, or even a person. O-O
