This only worked in Spyro's Universe which has since been shut down.

And even then I never could get it to work. I signed up for universe just to get the web codes, but it never would recognize it. Windows would, but the game wouldn't. It kept trying to reinstall the drivers.

Oh wow, that's horrible. So now if you lose the codes and don't have the Bluetooth portal you're doomed?

Pretty much. That's what happened to me as we lost a few of ours and my wife threw away the box to Skylanders Giants before I could get them out of the box. I ended up getting those 3, though, when Target had that deal a while back and I only paid $1 for the game. I picked up an extra copy because our Xbox scratched the disc real badly. So I was able to get extra web codes.

Do we know if the Bluetooth portal will still work with the new characters?

Yes the BT portal works with all the characters that's how I add them to the game.

Tgabk you, but I meant if it will work with the new Swapforce characters since they require a new portal for console game play.?.

I think it will still works for the normal character but not the swapping characters... Since they use a different system... But again we will know for sure when it came out next month..

That's what I was thinking... I hope the codes work for more than one device for the swappers then. Thanks!

I'm probably dreaming here, but I REALLY hope they allow the new portal to talk to via Bluetooth to a portable device (Android/Apple phone or table). It's pretty crappy the original one couldn't, and it feels like an additional money grab to need a NEW portal just for that function.
