Hmm... there's a good chance you can still talk. As for writing... that make take some getting used to. Ether way, you can certainly learn to.

As for myself, I would be surprised and excited at first. However, I would have to get used to being half-blind (Darin's left eye) and would need to learn how to use Darin's shapeshifting abilities. That besides, flying sounds fun (though I'm not sure how my irl fear of heights would affect that experience) and I would be the first and only real gryphon.
