If so, A PM with a reason wouldn't go amiss.

Sorry if I did something wrong but I will never know what unless you tell me.

Actually seems it was for "Advertising" which I wasn't really doing. I put a jokey last line about being "open to offers", I guess it was take far too literally.

I will refrain from doing so again.

Is there a better place to put a post about custom figures? I wouldn't want it to get deleted again!

I don't think it is a custom figure, surely it deserved its own thread.

Having read the original thread I thought it was obvious you were joking, deleting was a bit harsh. Would a warning and a quick edit not have been a more reasonable approach?

WTF?

Why has the second thread been deleted?

Is someone having a joke?

Not funny

OK, where to?

I was posting and it came back topic deleted, I agree with OP, topic deletions and moving is not always handled very well.

Users are notified when a post of theirs is removed, and I messaged Pyrofer myself linking where the topic had been moved; there shouldn't be any issue with Pyrofer not finding the topic, and if the system works the topic should appear in your "view posts" section, whether the topic is moved or merged.

I merged the topic with this one.

That isn't true. I get crap deleted/moved all the time and you mods never notified as to why. I am usually forced into PM'ing every mod I know to try to find an answer. Not only that, reported threads go without attention and threads get closed without reason. Throw us a bone here!

You can check your "moderated messages" section and it has all/any topics, posts etc that are deleted.

The "moderated message" section doesn't tell us which moderator worked on the message in question. That is why it would be nice to be told via PM a little more information. Or maybe even have the mod sign the message left?

If your moderated message was removed in a topic of a section, then it would be best for you to contact the moderators of that section and ask why your comment was removed in the first place.

It isn't as easy when there are two moderators per section. Just a little clarity would be appreciated.

That is my point exactly! Why do we have to go through all that trouble when can easily be remedied by having the original moderator just sign on their message? Or send a separate PM giving detailed information on the reason for the change in post?

And have users directly bash the moderator for deleting their rule-breaking comments?

Wow, there are an awful lot of people that will go to no ends to defend the mods. The mods are doing their job. What is wrong with the users being able to defend their posts? There have been instances where posts of mine were deleted but then reinstated after discussing it with a mod. It isn't all about breaking rules and rebellious users not following them. Some of you are very black and white thinkers on this forum and that is unfortunate.

Such a big ego. smilie

Did you ever think about what would happen if users find out which mod deleted their posts that are rule-breaking? It's a possibility they would go and directly harass the moderator on a topic and go as far as create pointless discussion threads of them being wanting the mod to be stripped of their status all because they deleted a comment of theirs that is breaking the rules.

Like this topic for example. Instead of contacting the moderator directly through PMs, the OP chose to post a public topic about his topic being removed and it draws attention.

And since the issue is resolved, I don't see the point of this topic being open any longer.

Not to constantly throw this out there, but on the forums I moderate on, whenever I moderate a message, I always take the time to sign it so that the user can contact me with questions.

If you're not thick-skinned enough to take a little "bashing", then you need to return your moderator hat to Dark.
And if it's a *lot* of bashing, then the user just needs to be banned.

I have to agree with Unclebob. I don't have any problems with any of the mods here but a few of my mods got deleted and I didn't know why until I had to message a mod to get the answer. And it was something as simple as let me know if you find one. Sometimes I feel that things get passed on that need to be deleted but stuff that has no harm other that trying to help people get deleted.

I know that I am not the only one who feels like that.

I know what you mean. I remember one time at a forum that a guy made a topic for a game called LSD Dream Emulator, and the topic was locked because the mods thought it was an illegal rom emulator as opposed to a video game. Another person tried to make a topic for the game, but the same thing happened: They mistook the game for a rom emulator. So I can understand mistaken topics.

Safe to say this thread no longer belongs under "Toys and Merchandise".
It's a distraction ... perhaps should be moved to another location and/or closed?

For what it's worth, the moderators of this website do a better job than the mods of any other video game-related website that I've been a part of.
Not sure why people are complaining.

I think the problem that we have is certain people can say/do things and not get in trouble about it in most cases. However, we have people who do no harm and they get their message deleted or whatever. I personally don;t have a problem with any of the mods on here as I am sure it is a hard job to do that what most people think. However, when you have certain things said that are mean or are just posts to start arguments and they get away with it. Certain people do it all of the time and nothing is done. Things could be said and they are done behind the scenes but, nothing ever changes.

I made a post one time of something a long the lines of... "Let me know if you find one." It got deleted because of advertising. When on any given day we have people come in be mean, start crap to be "cool," or really have nothing better to do. Yet, they do things over and over again and nothing happens.

I want to stress that I don't have any issues with the Mods. Part of the answer would be people not freaking out and start doing the same thing when people start doing that but, people do. The other part would a little stricter on the main offenders.

It comes off with some of the rules/way things are handle on here that people who want to help have to hide in the back, yet the people moan, start crap, and what not can hide in plain sight and not have anything done about it.

I know that not everyone will ever be happy and having the mods has been a step in the right direction. However, I think we have more room for improvement.

At this point this thread is clearly off-topic. I have decided to close this thread for that reason. I do not believe that their is much more that can be constructively said here. I considered moving this to suggestions but was concerned that the resolve of moving the thread and perceivably hiding it would further instigate the issues. Closing the thread maintains the content of the conversation on the site and keeps it where those that participated can find it without the toys and merchandise section be overshadowed.

If those discussing this desire to the best place to continue this conversation would be on he suggestion board. I would also like to make it clear that if anyone has a concern you can always send me a PM. I personally believe it is easier to resolve an issue directly and privately relayed to me in this methodology. In this sense I will begin initialing these posts with IJM, so it is more obvious who questions and issues can be directed to.
