Out of all the "big box" Skylanders retailers in the USA, I get the worst service and worst prices and overall worst experience at GameStop.
I don't like their store policies and I don't like how they horribly mismanaged and bait-and-switched consumers during their recent Skylanders (LoL) "Festival" event when Polar Whirlwind was released.

The price is fine. The product is awesome. But I really wish Activision had not rewarded GameStop with this privilege.
Very disappointed by that.

Stopped by my local Gamestop after work today and preordered the dark edition. I don't mind paying a little extra if it means I don't have to drive all over town searching for variants! The guys at gamestop also confirmed that the coupon would be valid (they recieved an email from corporate about it and he looked at it while I was standing there). He also confirmed LC hex. Hooray!

Spoke to my GS Manager today and he said that LC Hex will be included. I forgot to ask him about if the coupon will be allowed. I will ask tomorrow.

I just pre-ordered one at Gamestop today. For three starters, i'm looking at spending $200 with coupons. I'm wondering if they will announce a starter similar to Battlegrounds for the Swap Force lineup, and if so will the Frito-Lay coupon work. Either way, I'll be glad when I'm finished buying starters and moving onto singles, triples, and adventure packs. BTW, is there a proper thread for the double packs? I hear a lot of talk about it, but no pics or links.

Just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that the double packs are a retailer exclusive.

I do not like their brick and mortar stores, and I don't like their store policies. Most of my problems go away when I order from them online though. Like you, I prefer not to feed the beast.

I think he said he preordered one dark starter and 2 regulars. so $90, $65, $65. So $220 before tax. Unless he ment $300 smilie

Each regular starter is 74.99, and the Dark one is 99.99 So you have a total of $249.97 Subtract the deposits for each, I paid $5 for each regular starter and $25 for the dark. That's $35. So now the total is $214.97 Now subtract the coupons. 3 starters 3 coupons, so $30 off. That's $184.97. Then add the tax, and your roughly at $199.31

You can see there that the Dark Starter DOES include LC Hex.

For anyone going to the store to pre-order, you might want to print the ad out for reference.

Since the news is out, I assume its safe to say these are some of the figures we saw in the 3D print room@ TFB. We never got camera footage because we were asked to turn it off and keep our silence. These figures look better in person and hope I can convert one of my preorders for the dark starter pack. We never got the details how these figures would be distributed. Had I known I would've waited to preorder this one too. Maybe a WiiU console is in our near future smilie Ps see my sig LoL

Update: Went to the gamestop near me. I brought the ad with me, but it wasn't needed, there was an Ad on the desk exactly like the Ad. I just pointed and said: "I want that", gave them $25 and was good to go.

I asked if the coupon would work at mine and he said yes. II despise shopping at Gamestop but will pick this up and then get the regular set when the Xbox One version comes out.

I tested out the Giants $1 off coupon that came in the Frito Lay bag to see if it would work (IF so, I would say that the $10 off Swap force coupon would work also). It would not scan or work when manually enter the coupon code. The manager is emailing Corporate tonight and should have an answer in a few days. I hope this gets cleared up and accepted before Oct 13th.
The manager and asst. manager knew about these coupons but they said that no one has ever tried to use them in their store.

Every retailer I have went to you have had to have them manually enter the coupons for $1 off. It's going to be no different for the starter packs in october. The only reason I preordered the dark starters in store was the use of the coupon. That's going to be 30 bucks I'll save in getting the starters.

You say that every retailer you went to .... Is Game Stop included as one that you went to? Cause my GS tried it manually and it did not take.

Since the figures in the regular starter packs will almost certainly get a single release (Rattle Shake already shown single carded), I am cancelling my original pre-order for the Dark one. The Dark ones will have a much higher price on the secondary market, so paying a modest price increase upfront for the Dark starter is not an issue for me.

Ok I went and reserved two dark sets. I asked about coupon and he said, "it should work. But if I cant scan it in ill just promo it for equal value." I asked what that neant exactly and he said, "it means ill make sure you get credit for $10 coupon for each starter pack." Not sure if that info helos any body but thought id post it just in case.

Yeah, I have a feeling that the coupons are going to be very YMMV at GameStop.

Truth be told, I didn't even know GameStop took coupons and, if not for this forum, I wouldn't have even thought about using it there. I mean, how often are there video game related *coupons*?

I am getting a PS4 so I will just get the regular starter pack with teh PS4. I have mucho dinero to spend in October and November. Good thing I will start to get a small bonus at work then.

As far as the earlier stuff about Gamestop..... I was a bit sad to see them get the rights to this also. I have found two gamestops that I will visit. Neither of them are close to me but I will make a trip if I decide it is worth it.

Gamestop puts out coupons in their Gameinformer magazine. That is the only place I have seen their coupons.
