I can't imagine. I have gotten tons of sheep lately, but I usually only get one troll camp every couple of days. 14 camps a day?

The updates are per troll captured not per camp cleared. So it's 14 trolls a day, or 5 camps unless you get unlucky with a few of the wizard camps.

It's 34 camps or more if it's wizard trolls as you only get 2 trolls.

6 a day should be enough.

Should really type faster.

It's doable, but not easy. I save up troll camps, though. I have about 10 right now.

Just realized I have exactly 10 mobs and camps. Wonder if 10 is the limit?

Challenging quest but it is a decent reward - a gem-only house worth 250 gems. It appears this is the challenging quest of the week instead of the short timer ones they had done the past few weeks.

That's better than they radiant field you get for the old mac quest (and the 3500 gems it costs to buy old mac).

The other quest gives you a tree rex statue which is nice.

Not that exciting a reward for someone at kingdom level 35, but I'll shoot for this. Of course, today I've had like 8 sheep mobs pop compared to one troll camp. And that troll camp naturally popped the wizards (which I almost never get). Two down. I got 98 problems but a sheep ain't one.

Can't see why not. It should work the same as shrines. You can only buy three shrines of each element, but you can win as many more as you are lucky.

Btw, why do so many of my friends' islands have Tree Rex's Statue? Did I miss a quest somewhere that awarded or required it?

I think I got it from the wishing well, but there may have been a quest? I'm not sure - but I've had it for a while.

The Tree Rex statue was released the same time they released Tree Rex's house. If I remember correctly they were the first 'premium' item offered for a limited time. A lot of people jumped on both the house and the statue.

I had a statue LONG before the house was available. In fact, it was available the first day I downloaded the game back in March, and people mentioned having it long before that.

I'm no expert, but there seems to be a 10 camp limit. So, I'd leave two or three myself. That's what I did.

Is there any correlation between the length of time troll camps are left on the ground and the appearance of gold chests?

I now have three gold chests.

30 trolls is not bad for day one.

We have not seen a troll camp in two days. Not going to be able to complete this one.

No clue on the gold chest thing. I only got silver chests.

Sorry Darren they do tend to come in waves. When they do come try to resist the urge to break them up straight away. Leave twos three on the ground.

We call it spawning.

OK. I'm new here. What's this about spawning and leaving camps/mobs overnight?

It's not just over night but any time.

Leaving 2 or 3 attracts more than if you we're to clear everything out.

I have not been keeping my own stats but others have.

Thanks! Did not know that. I've been clearing those things as soon as I spot 'em. My OCD makes me want to clean them up. I will try this approach.

I'm far from convinced that leaving alone means more will spawn faster. I started the collect 100 trolls quest with none on the ground at all. 29 hours into the quest, and I'm halfway through the quest. I cleared each one as soon as I saw it. With three fire shrines, I checked in almost once every hour to collect wishstones.

I do well leaving one camp at all times. They seem to regenerate within an hour or so that way while in the past when I've cleared everything I can go a day or two without any more camps or mobs.

Well, I've seen 2 troll camps since the beginning of this timed quest so clearing them ASAP doesn't seem to be working...

Just for the record.

I've kept 3 camps on the ground and have 82 trolls in 48 hours.

I guess everyone's experience is different.

I'm now leaving 2 camps on the ground and a new one seems to pop up every hour or so, so this is working for me!

Ok so my one camp left overnight that has always worked before generated one new camp. I took care of the new one this am and 6 hours later still no new camps. I'm stuck at 42/100 thanks to a sudden influx of wizard trolls :-/ I hope to go back to my normal generating of camps soon. I'm starting to take out more sheep to make room.

Because on Monday they keep adding timed quests around sheep and trolls.

I stalled out today. I think I've seen one new troll camp all day.

Ugh, I am having absolutely no luck with this quest. Mine spawn at such a slow rate(only 21/100!!) that it's starting to tick me off.

But I'll try these tricks and see if they help for me.

Leaving the troll camps doesn't work for me. I left two overnight, check in the morning, still the same two camps. I've found the best way is to clear them out as soon I see them. They seem to spawn more often if you clean out the kingdom of trolls, sheep & now chompy pods. This is my experience & I'm not suggesting the same for everyone. I have had a sudden influx of wizard trolls as well. I'm not going to get my hopes up because I learnt with the scarecrow quest. This game always disappoints you in order for you to just fold & pay for gems to buy the stuff.

I've tried all techniques: Leaving fields to spawn more, eliminating them as soon as they appear, selling objects to make room for more troll camps...but it goes veeery slow.
Anyway, I have a spot where there are constantly either sheeps or troll camps or totems. It is a corner with 4 free squares and I try to keep it as clean as possible, as it is a source for these elements.

I left 2 camps overnight and this morning I still had those same 2 camps plus 2 choppy pods and 4 totems. So I cleared everything but the trolls and came back 10 minutes later and I had a 3rd troll camp. I need at least 4 more to spawn before I even have a chance with this quest.

I have 26/100 trolls. I think I went a whole day without one spawning. I finally had one spawn, this morning. I left it to see what would happen. Finally, I have another one, but I have a few sheep as well. I keep getting sheep instead of trolls. It sounds like the opposite of when they had the sheep quest and kept giving us trolls (especially the last day when they gave us the troll invasion). I hate when they give quests that we seem to have no control over if we accomplish them or not. Having times quests based on getting a lot of trolls, sheep, etc. that we have no control over when we get them is a bit ridiculous. It makes me think there might be some way of getting them to spawn. It's not like I'm not playing a lot, either, as others on these forums do.

In the last 36 hours I have had 2 new troll camps (one always left in place that in the past seemed to help) I took out some sheep to see if that would help. Sheep came back but no new trolls... It seems like they are trying to create a desire to get the prize maybe hoping people will waste gems to skip/complete it.?. Do you still get the prize if you skip the quest?

I feel like when we have these types of timed quests that the game steps it up and will spit out enough opportunities in the last 24 hours or so. We'll see if that holds true. I'm sitting at about 40/100 with three troll camps that I'm letting sit for now...

Oh for the record I had 100 by lunch time on day 3.

I have had lots of sheep mobs spawn, especially today. You'd think I had a sheep mob quest.

I am on level 35, never spent money on gems, 75/76 skylanders, 5 shrines, 2 giants houses, 1 legendary lounge, share iTunes account and many web codes with family.

I would have more legendary lounges except when I am short on energy I throw in some wish stones.

Now if I could only stop doing that.

Previously I had had good luck always leaving one camp and mob, but now only 3 camps in 48 hours. I don't know what I can do...

It's the top-left squares in the top-left island (I think it's the "life" one).

I got no new trolls over night :-(

I am overrun with sheep mobs right now, but troll camps have been very slow going (and I've had at least three wizard camps). So I'm in the low 30's for total captured trolls with three days to go. Ain't gonna happen! :-(

For those that really want to complete the quest there is another option. Buy yourself a Delorian, grab Marty McFly and step on the gas until you hit 88 mph. Always go backwards. Never forwards or you may lose the reward.
