For now 2 months nothing new at the 7 stores I check just half to near empty pegs of stuff, if any have them its a couple flashwings and swarm with a hot head or crusher mixed in. I havent seen anything new here since lightcore chill and pop appeared. Not even the triple pack 7, anyone else getting the same in there area? TRU and Walmart seem to have stuff but target is lacking. This is Ny for anyone that cares, long island to be exact.

Upstate NY is the same. Funny how they are the go to place for the older adventure packs but anything Giants related is non-existent. My theory is that they ordered way too much of the SA stuff and they are hesitant of repeating that at the tail-end of Giants? I think what they have gotten in later waves is much less. I have actually seen S2 Drobots and Lightcore Pop Fizz sitting on shelves at ToysRUs and Walmart in my area but with Target I may see one of them and then they never return. Perhaps it is because more people are shopping at Target now than Walmart? And ToysRUs is more expensive? I guess we will just have to wait and see how they embrace Swap Force. Hopefully they will have a couple of exclusive figures this time around again.

The Target by my house in Washington is the same. I asked one of the manager there about why they don't have any Giants and he said that he keeps trying to order more Giants, but the Target warehouse doesn't have any because Activision isn't sending them because they are backordered. So basically Target can't get them from Activision because they don't have any to send. Maybe Walmart and TRU still have Giants in their warehouse and that is why they still keep getting them. One of the manager at a TRU by my house said that all of their Skylanders come from the warehouse and not directly from Activision.

I bet Activision is holding shipments back, in order to start filling shelves the day Infinity releases.

Our local target says they want more but are at the mercy of distributer and cant get more

My Gamestop hasn't gotten a single shippmeny since the POLAR WHIRLWIND EVENT.

Target seems lackluster lately.

Drying up inventory in order to prep for Swap Force. Expect a refresh for Giants inventory around that time along with the new game.

The one here did get several about one box of new figures but nothing chase, etc in them. They have been drying up for awhile simply because of acti's way of throwing so many of certain ones in a box while others are less found. I think that problem is going to catch up with them in they are going to have to allow stores like the amazon approach in having more characters at the ready in equal amounts at the start. Especially if Infinity just might do so on release. I don't think that one is going to have the same practice.

I was thinking that too, casue it would make sense for them to have a full stock of stuff next to DI

My Target hasn't receive much at all, either. They got a shipment when Jade Flashwing came out, and there hasn't been much since. Randomly I'll notice a couple new ones, but mostly just pegs and pegs of Flashwings. Other stores have about gotten to that point, though, but not as bad as Target.

Target and Best Buy have both dried up getting ready for Swap Force. TRU gets a shipment here and there to go along with the figures that don't sell and sit on the shelf. Giants isn't being discontinued, but stores are reluctant to order lots of stuff when they know they are going to have shelves full of it in a couple months. Giants figures will still continue to trickle out even after Swap Force, there are many figures (notably the giants) that you cannot get otherwise. Same thing happened this year, SSA stuff has come out, Wham Shell hit TRU in large numbers last fall as well as Camo 3 packs, and some singles did as well.

There will always be a dip in demand for figures for the last game shortly before and after a new game hits. When people have new stuff to get, they only want new stuff. But, as the game matures, collectors and late comers want to pick up some of the figures from the last game(s) as well. They also pick up the last game if the new one is their first experience.

My Walmart is partly worse,right now they've haven't got anything Wave 3 and on except MHD,it was worse during SSA though,they didn't dry up,they didn't even try.

the point was that target is not ordering figures again but walmart Yes!

Where i am they don't even have giants! just S2 Whirlwind Flashwing S2 Cynder and the Sonic Boom, Sprocket, Stump Smash I live in the valley part of California

They are likely waiting for swap force.
Most of my stores are now waiting for only new things and for swap force
(Last shipment was Gnarly Tree Rex single)

Only store near me that isn't stocking them any more is kmart. I just don't like that almost every store (Walmart, target, Kmart) carries very small quantities.

Well my target had the terra Stealthy Eruptor triple I bought it though my GameStop only has lightcore Shroomboom Lc Jetvac DF cannon and Crusher

I mentioned this in the Charlotte thread a few weeks ago, but given the comments early in this topic, I guess it's somewhat safe to extrapolate to most regions of the USA now:

Target stores and Best Buys and GameStops have essentially slowed their re-stocking of Series 2 figurines down to a very, very slow trickle.
I visited the Rivergate Target display yesterday, and their display was pathetic. They had zero (literally none) Giant-sized single packs. Only about 1/3 of their pegs and shelves were occupied, the vast majority of which were the usual Target subjects from the past 3-4 months (Flashwing, Whirlwind, Cynder, Stump Smash, Dragonfire Cannon pack, Shroomboom). This is very consistent with the Stonecrest Target and Blakeney Target stores over the last few months, too. Although the characters are slightly different (Best Buy tends to have Sprocket and Stump Smash primarily, GameStop tends to have lots of Crusher/Swarm/Eye-Brawl/Hot Head) in some spots, this pattern describes the shelves for Best Buy and GameStop for the past 3+ months, too. The only K-Mart near me (Pineville) honestly looks like they are slashing their electronics department in half. Last time I was there, the spot where Skylanders used to be is now occupied by washers and dryers ... no joke.

So, for better or worse, if you're shopping for Giants series figures at this point (between now and October, presumably), you need to hit up Toys R Us or Wal-Mart. As described above, those two are the only ones continuing to stock the shelves well out of the five major "big box" USA retailers for Skylanders.

My local Target has essentially nothing but Cynder and starter kits. I keep hoping that someone who really likes Cynder will come by one day, so I won't have to look at her anymore when I go there.

my local targets( i got 2 within a 20 minute radius) has nothing but a few bouncers but an hour away in the next county the shelves were full of various stuff. they even had a few pirate seas.....

My main point here is will we ever see triple pack 8 and 9, single jet vac etc. It's Aug already.

My Target has plenty of everything except Ninjini, Spyro, Wrecking Ball, and the case with S2 Drobot. (And they had an Infinity display!) I also finally found the pre-order cards!

The Target down the street from me seems to ALWAYS have the same stuff- Its weird. So I gave up looking there The one across town though is the opposite. It really just depends on location I guess :/

Heck I wish I had that. I checked 7 targets over the pass week, same stuff for 2 months now. I randomly see a lc chill or lc pop fizz but thats about it. They ahvent had thump/eyebrawl. ninjini since scarlet came out.

I understand your concern.
Two things to consider:
First, there's still two months until the Swap Force release date. Even though I never would have thought in January that we would STILL be awaiting some of the Series 2 releases in mid-August .... it seems at this point that Activision is fully-willing to stretch-out the release of Skylanders figures and packages as long as possible. Which brings up my second point ...
I would hypothesize that Activision no longer plans to release every character/packaging prior to the sequel's launch. It's entirely possible that we might not see Triple Pack 8 and 9 until November. I sure hope they arrive sooner than that ... I just want to get some people comfortable with the idea that we (unfortunately) may face ongoing longer and longer (intentional) delays in distribution/shipments. That's always subject to change and to the whims of Activision's distributors.

Targets in Canada are starting to open up this year (a few hundred stores I think) so perhaps they are routing inventory up north?

I visited about 10-15 targets in the nearby area in the last month. Their stock were almost always miniscule. They'll generally have a small amount of the overtocked singles and some triples. I was able to find a few stores that had some rarer stuff, but these were found at all different stores. What I consider rare, but still in stores, in the SoCal area would be, the triple pack with wrecking ball, s2 slam bam single, s2 terrafin single, sunburn adventure pack, slam bam adventure pack. I've seen them carrying various base giant Giants as well, but I never noted down which ones since all the variations were accessible near me.

As far as toys r us, when I was talking with a sales associate, they mentioned that there are some stores that are considered bigger stores which will get the best stock for stuff. I had visited one that he listed off and the shelves had at least 10 Lg Lc Chill, a few Lg Stealth Elf and a few Lg trigger happy. The short isle was also filled with various singles and triples from both SSA and SG. So you may want to ask your local toys r us as to which ones nearby are the larger centers that gets better stock.

TRU but by me have wave 2-3 figures, not one legendary left. One or two have ssa chop chop, cynder, hex and triple camo/warnado/ignator. Giants are all there even bouncer and ninjini which is good.
I just want to get them triples and jet vac before i find out they aint coming and ebay jumps up.

Targets by me still have the advertising up for Granite Crusher & Jadewing...but I've been told they haven't been seen since like January. From what I've seen of the LI Targets, they maybe get a case of regular figures and a case of lightcore a week...and nothing for the Westbury store.

or the day before as inifinity i think releases on the 13th and with acti's announcement on the 12th you'll probably start seeing more in stores then on purpose

The Target in Mt. Pleasant MI hasn't had hardly any stock the past few months. However Wal-Mart [in Greenville as well] had several Gnarly Trees on hand. Likely depends on the traffic & demand of the store.

My Target still gets them in, but they only get 1 or 2 boxes, and they're gone by 10:00 AM due to all the damn scalpers in my area.

Target here in Langley BC don't have much skylanders, just opened 2 months ago or so maybe that's why i think.

Target finally got Gnarly Tree Rex? or did you mean tru/walmart?

With 1/2 the racks being filled with SSA figures...maybe retailers are slowing down on SG orders so they don't have the same problem when SSF hits in Oct. The TRU's by me just did a buy 2 for $15 on Skylander singles and a 2 for $20 on Giants. I mean unless your a collector, why bother buying figures like Hot Dog or Terrafin when they will have more powerful version in Oct.

Well if you think you guys in the US got it bad, my local Tesco had 1 S1 Double Trouble and a Crusher. Nothing else.
TRU: Entire display full of Legendaries, Whirlwinds, DFC's, and Sprockets
ASDA: Nothing except like 1 S2 Lightning Rod
Game is the only retailer that has an OK selection

All my Targets have the advertising still up for Jadewing & Granite Crusher...do you guys think it's possible they may restock them for the Holiday season or when Swap Force hits? They've been gone so long to still leave that stuff up.

Both my Target and Wal Mart have not restocked in about two or three weeks now. I know this because we go to the Target about 2-3 times a week, and the Wal Mart 1 -2 times a week and we can see the exact same stock sitting there or dwindling. In fact, Wal Mart shrank their peg space for them in the toy section from 12 to 4 pegs, but left their electronics space for Skylanders the same size.
