Sakurai the maker of Smash Bros has removed story mode because people made lets play's of it in Brawl and he said if people watch it they wont wanna play it for themselves.

I'm not really mad... Nobody bought the game solely to play through the subspace emissary. It was a nice touch and had some really great cutscenes though. And it was neat seeing your favorite characters work together to strive towards one goal.
