My GameStop got 8 in today.

Gnarly looks amazing in the box. So happy they released him.

Granite crusher was in Big W at the start, they had about 60 in Campsie before Christmas.

Is the blue on the tree rex metallic? I thought it was bright like the wii it came with but that photo of the six surprised me.

Yeah it is. It gives it a cool look.

There have been a good number of them in my area, I went to walmart and saw them. I thought they were going to be rare.

Also I have been the one partially dropping the price of Gnarly Tree Rex on ebay. So if you guys do decide to order through there lol they have dropped significantly. I am assuming more because they have been stocked in the stores. My Walmart had a couple.

I just got Gnarly from walmart in Portland OR.

Spoke to the manager at Toys R Us this afternoon (Pineville, NC). Without me even asking, he volunteered info about the forthcoming release of single pack Gnarly Tree Rex's. He said the street date (at least for TRU) is August 18th, which is a Sunday. He anticipates receiving 4 cases of 6 each, and he expects it to be a one-time only shipment.

I snagged one for a friend and one for myself today.

Hmm, One time shipment? I might as well go order one. x)

I could see it being a one-time shipment. If you take GITD Sonic Boom out all of the "variants" have been harder to come by this time. Which I am okay with.

I got Gnarly Tree Rex at Gamestop in West Lebanon, NH!
I'd add an image, but I'm posting from my phone so I can't.

Best deal so far that I've seen. Went to a best buy and they had a few Gnarly's out. On top of that, they're currently running a promotion that all skylanders giant giants are 13.99. I had the cashier price match it since it was a non specific deal and they also gave me a free skylanders bag. The problem with this promotion price matching it elsewhere is that it's not in their current circular and might be listed online, but not many places will price match that.

Toys R Us near me had it in stock, but couldn't put them out until the 18th. Wasn't seen near me at walmart.

I am half tempted to see if my Wal-Mart got any put out lately. Although I hate running out in town the next 10 days because of the Sprint Car Nationals are in town. My town of about 10k swells to about 75k the next week. :/


Ran out real quick..... Had a couple boxes out of Gnalry. Picked one up. Best part was seeing a five year old get one and totally freak out thinking he had won the lottery!

Walmart.com has them online, and it says that I can get store pickup as early as today. Does this mean they have him in stock right now? Tried giving them a call and of course no answer from electronics not that I'd trust them to actually go look >___>

I just got an email saying it was shipped to the walmart. I cant wait for my delivery email!

Picked one up today.

They had 5 at the Walmart I went to. Put them all on the portal and picked the one that looked best and had the brightest light-up.

I normally don't keep things boxed, but I think I will with Gnarly.

Wal-Mart if they still have theirs up don't have anything you can check the lights on. While Target and other stores do.

Someone actually BOUGHT the Portal from a nearby Walmart.
Or they stole it. Or broke it.

A lot of Wal-marts took them out.

I have a feeling we're gonna see the Swap Force Portals out early.

Either that or they took them out for infinity.

Picked one up today and they had 4 left out on the pegs.

I went in Gamestop today looking for Polar Whirlwind which they guy pulled out of the back. But he also pulled out a Gnarly Tree Wrex which I didn't even know about until today, so that was a very nice surprise as my mom was commenting on the Bundle for him with the Wii today as well.

This sunday's toysrus ad shows gnarly in it on back page, along with giants being 2 for 22. So TRu is holding off gnarly till the 16th yet it's in the ad. I don't see this going well for them.

I wonder what made them decide to single release him. I mean they didn't bother single releasing the green gill grunt so what made him so special. Granted I would've taken tree rex over gill grunt anyways. Just curious.

Upstate NY ToysRUs had a table full (about 20) of GTR. That was cool to see considering I haven't been seen him at any store.

One big reason is that he is an in-game variant. Green gill does not look any different in game. People were probably complaining about not bing able to get him unless they spent the 120.00 on a wii bundle.

The Wii Bundle GTR quality has better looking eyes and the arm lights up better on the portal. This is comparing the three that I have in hand. The eye slit on the Wii GTR is much cleaner. Anyone else notice this? I may just have some bad quality GTRs on my hands. I'll see if I can post up some photos tomorrow.

I was wondering if this was simply a repackaging of the old Gnarlys they had that didn't sell in the Wii bundles but apparently that isn't the case. Unfortunately for me the figure that I have on hand appears to be a rush job. Some of the metallic blue paint is dripping down the right side of the figures body. Also there is a smudge of blue paint streaked along the inside wall of the plastic bubble. Good thing I got a couple coming from Walmart so that I can return the one that looks the worse.

I feel two things happened here:

1. They always planned to relase this alone at the tail end, but kept it a secret in other to drum up wii sales in US and ps3 sales in the UK. Nintendo/sony had gnarly tied up to their system but I feel it was a timed deal sort of thing. Since start sets of giants are going for around $30-$40 with sales lately I guess they felt it was time to release him solo.

2. They decided they could make money off it, why not do it.


I feel its the 1st one then anything.

In other news for the long island peeps. Carle Place TRU had like 20 gnarly yesturday around 5pm. None of which I bought, but I did price adjust my 3 i got and picked up a swarm (my wife cant figure out where her swarm went).

I just got Gnarly Tree Rex in a single pack at the Gamestop in West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Last and only one they had.

In other news, how much do you think I could get if I sold Gnarly Tree Rex, Legendary Bouncer, Granite Crusher, Gold Flamslinger, Legendary Stealth Elf, GITD Sonic Boom, Molten Hot Dog, GITD Cynder, Golden Dragonfire Cannon pack, Legendary Triple Pack, Green Gill Grunt, Jade Flashwing, Legendary Lightcore Chill, and the Scorpian Striker pack all together? Because there is a bundle on eBay for 175 dollars with about half of that and I think it should be worth more considering most of them are rare/special.

Surprisingly Target seems to not have these yet at least around here or even in their ads/online. I think lesty said sept originally for gnarly so maybe target is going to have it at the end of the month. I know it's in their system to have cause i scanned gnarly at target it has it's own DICP and came up as gnarly tree but wasnt in stockroom.

So my guess is target will have them at end of month or for an ad every Sept.

Saw 10 at Walmart.
