How rare would you say the Volcanic Vault item is? [CLOSED]

I just picked up Volcanic Vault on Craigslist for $3 and I am wondering if anybody knows how rare this item may be? I know how it was included in starter packs through Best Buy and I know that it really doesn't do much in the game but I see the prices on Ebay which lead me to believe there is some rarity to it. If I didn't get it for the price I did I wouldn't have even bothered with it but now that I have it I am curious about it.

I did the same, I believe you mean Best Buy as your game store. Since they are exclusive to them only.

Hmm. I would say pretty rare. I miss out on getting one and ended up paying about 12 for one on ebay. Unless they bring it back, I think the price will keep going up. Unless the market runs dry. Could become the next guitar hero. Great for a few years, then people get sick of it. But I don't see that happening for a long while.

They sell for about $50 here... but we don't have that chain, so the 2nd hand market is the only way to get one.

I don't own one. As I understand all it does is opens up an extra vs battle arena. I've been looking for one but not ready to pay up ebay$ just for that arena. If I could borrow one for a day I would be ecstatic just to open up that extra vs arena.

If I am not mistaken, from what I have read it is just a re-skin to a pre-existing level in Spyro's Adventure. The Aqueduct level to be exact. This gets me thinking. Wouldn't it be cool if we could set up some mailing trading list for some of the Skylanders Adventure packs for people that don't have access to the items? I realize it would have to work on an honor system which might not be realistic. We could have someone mail out and item, lets say Darklight Crypt, to the first person on the list, they get to keep it for a few days before they mail it out to the next person on the list. It would give somebody enough time to open up the level and pass it along. Perhaps somebody has a physically broken item that could be mailed around that still interacts with the portal perfectly fine? Maybe it wouldn't work, I just think it would be a neat idea if it did.

I have been unable to acquire one. I have some decent trade fodder if someone would like to PM me.

I participated in the mail-a-thon last year, where the VVwas shipped from person to person. So I have the VV unlocked, but don't own it, per se.

Yeah, it was a good idea. Even had international shippers. Note that it was just the RFID strip in a sealed envelope - not the actual VV. that way, no one in he chain would be tempted to just add it to their collection.
