If I don't want to buy the 3DS pack how much do you think I can buy him for on ebay?

Wait until the pack goes on sale, which should be around Black Friday/Christmas/next Summer/When Skylanders 4 is out.

He'll be the next Dark Spyro/Punch Pop Fizz.

Cause he's a variant and ppl who collect the game will want him. Few will sell him but prob for enar the cost of the 3ds game

Expect between $30 to $40 for it as a single figure. Seems that is what Dark Spyro goes for and about what Punch Pop Fizz goes for.

It's too soon to give precise predictions. But I feel pretty confident in agreeing with the couple of posters above me here. Volcanic Eruptor prices on the secondary market will probably fall in-line with post-release prices for Dark Spyro and Punch Pop Fizz and Royal Double Trouble. Expect about $30; possibly as high as $40.

I would pay around that much $30-$40 if i'll get a loose Volcanic Eruptor.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect that figure to come down to that price level for a very long time if ever. Even now it seems like it cost just as much to buy the full 3DS game of Spyros Adventure as it does to buy the figure separately. Wasn't there quite a tidal wave of "gutted" 3DS starters packs on ebay and craigslist shortly after the game became available? If I remember correctly it seems as those most of them were selling for only around $15 to $20 without Dark Spyro. It will be interesting to see how Swap-Force plays out with the 3DS including 3 totally different figures to the TV console counterparts. I wonder if the other two included swap-able figures are going to be immediately available at launch in single packs. My guess is they will not. I would bet money on it all 3 will be exclusive to the 3DS starter pack for some time after launch which will certainly cause a headache for all not really interested in the that version. Hell, I bought Battlegrounds with little interest in the actual game itself. I just wanted the Royal Double Trouble and the Platinum Treasure Chest. Turns out the game wasn't horrendous and the $40 price tag wasn't that hard to swallow.

So any idea if this will ever see a single release? Or should I just hit eBay now?

Consider the price if you can get b1g1 40% off (or the 20% off) at TRU and add an activision coupon to that. There are still some of those coupons around. Also consider the 20% coupon. You could also sell the other parts once you get Volcanic. Compare the price to the best ebay price you can find.

For that price, you might as wall pick up the 3DS and sell the extras...

I'd at least wait until Black Friday. Then determine if you want to just buy the whole thing set or look for the single.

If you're willing to wait a long time for a really god sale and save up coupons, you could get the 3DS starter pack for dirt cheap.

why dont you want the 3ds game?
