Post here questions about what to do with extra skylanders. I have an extra series 2 zap and i was wondering what should I do with it? I want to sell it or trade it but i do not want to make it a custom because i'm bad at painting. What should I do?

I wish there was a forum or sub-forum on this site available for those who wanted to trade or sell their Skylanders. I understand why the owners of the site wouldn't want to get involved in something like that but I think it would be helpful for all of us collectors for a single place to go instead of having to look up each members profile to see their haves and wants.

Here here! We need a place for trading! (I have an extra S2 Zap too.)

I suggest saving it for now. Sooner or later, it will be old and rare. I dont think there will be a SWap force Zap. So kids who start collecting these with swap force will want one, and buy or trade for yours.

Also it is very hard to descern some of the figure images that are used on this site. Maybe I need a bigger screen or a stronger prescription for my glasses which I will not dismiss but I don't believe it is the best way to represent your figures. I think that a trading option is also important for those of us that have an abundance of figures in one area of where we live and then for others who can't seem to find another. For example my Wal-mart has 15 glow in the dark Sonic Booms just sitting on the shelf and a Local Gamestop I went to had 4 Polar Whirlwinds but in my same area I have only seen the Clear Red Drill Sergeant once and I have about 4 Wal-marts around me. I know that this is a real basic example and I don't even know the real scarcity of the GITD Sonic Boom or how many of the Polar was made but I hope you understand the point that I am trying to make.

Well we could start a trading thread here. People have to post pictures to show what they have or they can sell skylanders and receive payment through paypal. People can also post wants thread, which is a thread where you list all the skylanders you are looking for.

I guess I am curious about what it would hurt to have one? People side skirt the whole thread thing by posting items in their signature or in their guestbooks so what is the harm? As long as it was limited to people trading and selling their items at retail price I don't see an issue. How do you filter the reseller rif-raf though? The hunters would probably be inundated with reports of post not adhering to certain standards. There always has to be a few bad apples I suppose.

The problem with a sanctioned Trade/Sell forum is that inevitably, someone has a bad trade, gets scammed or a deal doesn't work out to someone's expectations. Then they drag the forum into it because they provided an avenue for it. Sure it probably wouldn't stand up, but it is time and effort not worth spending. And liability laws vary between countries. It also has the effect that if trades go bad then it reflects negatively on the site. People are not always reasonable and logical concerning these things.

Secondly, it depends on the webhost. They may have certain pay structures set up for "commercial" websites. Selling/trading might bring that into question, and make the forum cost more to run. Or they may simply outright forbid it in their rules - they may not want to deal with commerce disputes either. That depends on who hosts it.

Dark hasn't said why it isn't allowed, but there are many good reasons to not allow it. And avoiding the headaches is probably one of the best reasons.

I have seen other forums with trade threads, and the moderators have a scammer thread. It is where people's names are posted if they are unreliable traders or sellers.

Walmart in Canada had a large shelf of the Glow in the Dark Sonic Boom. It's stock taking time and everything is out.
