Due to my (sick and twisted, though not as much as Polarwind) agenda, I'll likely need to be able to remove figs from their bases (as in pedestals) without damaging the RFID. I've heard a hair dryer works, but I'm curious will it work as well with LC figures, as they have wiring. Can someone tell me if that wiring's connected to the RFID, and how to best remove/cut it? Any help is appreciated.
Also, on a related note, does clay work well with customizing?

If you don't mind severing the wires and not being able to do the light up function, I'd just cut the figures under their feet from the base with an exacto knife. The rfid chip still works just fine when doing that. I've done it with 2 giants(crusher and tree rex for my mclanders) and the chip still works inside. You don't have to take the chip out or nothin you can keep em in the base. I for a while struggled trying to find out if this would damage the rfid chip on lightcores and giants, didn't want to ruin the chip disconnecting the figure. It turns out it was fine.
I'm surprised that a hairdryer would work... That sounds like it would ruin the chip.

You blow on the figure, I presume, not the pedestal.
Thanks, dunno what the heck an Exacto knife is, but Google should fix that.

It's American for Scalpel.
They like to refer to everything by the most common brand name, like "Xerox" stuff instead of "photocopy". Go to your local hobby shop and find some decent hobby Scalpels, they normally do cheap sets. |

What you should do:
Blow-dry the orange base. Remove the base. Carefully pull out the wires. HANDLE THE CHIP WITH CARE! (Wear rubber gloves!) Voila.

To clarify , are you saying remove the wires from the chip and base or from the figure. If its from the figure then be careful because those led lights don't fit throught the holes. Heck tree rex led light is actually secured in the toy frame unless you take it apart. And is the hair dryer ok on a low setting to loosen the glue? I may try this more oftenr, get less cuts on my fingers Also on the earlier note brought up, I apologize for just thinking everyone would get the brand name. Its what I grew up knowing. The tool I guess would be considered a hobby knife, used for detailing cutting andsometimes would or sculpt designing. Most have switchable blades nowadays for different sizes and in case the blade brakes or becomes too dull. Also usually the scalpel as far as I've heard growing up would usually refer to the medical instrument. Sorry again about the confusion with the brand name. Ill try and learn to be better with my word usage

I meant from the figure. Hopefully you won't tear the wires up or break off the lights.

I don't want to remove the orange base, I want to remove the pedestal. Probably should've been more specific. Thanks though.

Doomslicer is actually this awesome dragon-scythe from LU.
For normal characters I would, I'm just curious how strong the LC's wiring is, if that'd be a problem.

Ok if I understand you correct youare ok with cutting the wire? If so, the wires not that strong really. Make sure the hobby knofe or whatever cutting utensil you used isn't like butter knife sharpness. Its easier to cut through the wires then it is to cut throught the plastic. That's my experience with it anyways

the wire inside lightcores is probably one of the cheapest thinnest wire they could have used. cuts through really easily

So, I can rip off the figure using the hairdryer trick, and just cut the wires, and RFID works fine? Good.
