My local TRu had no clue about the giant single either. They also had literally no singles left, just 3 lightcores and tons of giants. One of the managers wrote on the receipts thou about the offer stating I should get a free single in addition to the LC hex. So that should work I hope.

I just told them I didn't want to walk in swap force release day and ppl being like "idk what your talking about, you get this hex only". Sadly I also don't have a copy of the physical ad and IDK if they will take/trust a printed copy. Either way I preordered the wii u, xbox360 and 3ds version.

I made a pretty big stink because my contention is 4 months down the right no one will not know what was advertised. I was asked for my e-mail, which I heard is an important component of this promotion as they will e-mail the free figure coupon to you before release. Worst case, if they decide to pull a Gamestop I'll just ask for my $1 back.

And no, still not sold on Gamestop...just want to get in on the offer in case I find in Activision's favor.

When I was preordering I just asked for a copy of the ad.

I asked for one and was told they didn't have any to give out. This has happened in other tru near me they never gave the ad minus the ones each register has in a binder

And again this thread does not call out any specifics. It wouldn't be hard for you to find that though, heck my signature says it all. Just think it's a pot shot; I don't plan at looking at this game with rose colored glasses; there's a lot at stake here for them and it looks like they will make it easy for Infinity to make inroads.

I'm not talking about "specifics" or your signature. What I'm saying is that your distrust of SWAP Force is the punctuation mark on every post you make. What I'm proposing is that we get a thread stickied for you just to make it easier to let the world know that SWAP Force doesn't sit well with you.

It's funny how everyone is giving Lightcore Hex. I am going to end up with at least two on release day (from 3DS and Wii U version pre-order) and I'm sure many others in the same boat. I'm thinking there will be so many Lightcore Hexes on eBay on launch day that the price will drop to like 4 bucks. lol

I looked at all your posts and I don't see any signature.

Also I wonder what you think about the inroads Infinity is making when the Wii release is one of the lowest rated games on Amazon. I'm not saying Infinity is bad or not selling well on other consoles, but they've already done something Skylanders never did which is alienate virtually every parent who bought the game on the original Wii. For Skylanders, the Wii releases always got very good reviews. Giants on the Wii has a 4.4 out of 5 from 372 reviews. Not only is Infinity rated lower than that on EVERY console , but on the Wii it's at 1.9 out of 5 stars from 69 reviews. if SWAP Force is a flop, that's one thing, but I wouldn't be too nervous about Disney. They have their own mountain to climb here.

Just like the last time this was offered they will ask you for your email address at checkout. The coupon for the additional free figure should be sent to you approximately 1 week before SWAP Force releases.

Did anyone do this deal previously? I can't remember if they asked me for an email address during checkout and there isn't any indication on the receipt that I get the free 2nd figure. I kept a copy of the old ad and printed off the email that I received just in case. The only reason I could guess as to why they didn't ask for my email address was because they swiped my Rewards R Us card which is connected to my email. Does anyone know of a way to check on this? I don't really want to wait a week before release to see if I get a coupon.

I was prompted for an email address during checkout but I don't think I used my TRU rewards. Don't know of any way to check on this after the fact.

I had a similar problem, Gooch. I told the associate that I couldn't remember if I had given my email or swiped my TRU card and I was concerned I wasn't going to get my free Hex.. He told me that as long as I had the pre-order slip and my receipt from when I pre-ordered it, I should be fine to get it. I would just hold onto everything if you've still got it, or talk to your local TRU and see what they can do.

So if you preorder with a TRU account, it will send you the coupon a week before it comes out so you can get a free character?

The deals aren't bad as long as they got characters you need.

Well considering that you pick up your free figure the same day Swap Force is released I think there should be a lot of characters there that all of us don't have.

If you are referring to the 20% off this weekend, this will work online but will not work in store since you are just putting $1 down. You are not actually buying anything, just reserving it. You would not be using the coupon this weekend either, you would use it when you pick up the item.
Plus, if you use online you do not get the extra character (3rd gift), instead you get free shipping.

If they (TRU) offer 20% off during the week of release, I believe you would not be able to (combine) use both (20% and Frito Lays $10 off coupon). This goes for any other deals they offer the week of release.

Here's a couple things to consider:
1) If they do what they did last year and offer BOGO 40% during the release of SF
2) You plan on getting a Starter Pack (Xbox/Wii/PS3) and the 3DS Starter Pack
3) If they allow the BOGO 40% for the Starter packs
4) It would be cheaper doing that than to use 2 $10 coupons fro Frito Lay
5) Frito Lay Savings = $20 / BOGO 40% Savings = $30 (40% off of $75)

Just something to keep in mind if it happens.

I went to ToyRUs yesterday to ask about my prior reserve. They said I could contact the 800 number to check whether I will be getting my 2nd free figure. I will do that tomorrow, but while I was there I preordered another one just to be on the safe side. I was in fact asked for my email address. All is good.
