I realize the main idea they seem to be going with is "new game = new gimmick," but I, for one, would have liked a new set of Giants, and I can already feel myself being disappointed that the fourth title likely won't have a bunch of new Swappable characters to mix and match with the upcoming ones.

So that begs the question: Do you prefer the method of "new game = new gimmick," or would you like to see the older gimmicks get new figures too?

Maybe the answer is an obvious "yes!" all around, but I thought I'd ask. I know I, as I said, would have loved to see some new Giants to bring in the Swap Force guys.

Personally---I am happy with the amount of characters per game. However I would like them to continue dragging out the releasing of the characters....

Well I don't call it a "gimmick"--I call it an innovation. If all they did was just release core landers and the same similar plot I think we'd be in hot water now. Keep it fresh and interesting, I say. I personally think they need to do a release every 2 years, and work on content---in doing so they can release more characters and "stretch it out" legitimately. As it stands now I personally would like 2-3 months of NOT thinking about this game before the new one arrives.

I would LOVE a few months not thinking about finding figures. It'd be so nice to have down time! Love your idea GhostRoaster---

Which is what they are doing by getting VV to work on SSF while TFB do S4.
They can't do a year off, or someone else could sneak in and steal the niche.

Lets be honest, the Giants weren't much of an innovation. They were bigger and stronger than core 'landers and they could throw rocks and reach a few "collectible" locations, but otherwise they gave no real innovations. S:G really felt like more of an expansion to SSA than a standalone game.
