Got Polar Whirlwind at EB Games today.
Also saw a sign at TRU that confirms the release date of Swap Force: October 13th, 2013!

I wouldn't mind LC Hex, but I absolutely DO NOT want Swap Force, never mind pre-ordering it! Even if I wanted it, this is FOUR MONTHS ahead of time, that's ridiculous!

FINALLY! A good batch of Skylanders! I really need Warnado! Was there anything else there that had not been seen for a while? (eg S2 Bash, Wham-Shell, Bouncer, S2 Flameslinger)

If I saw Wham Shell I would have GRABBED Wham Shell, LOL! Nope, as I said, the only Lostlanders I saw were Camo, Dino-Rang and Warnado. And I went back today (just got back 10 minutes ago) to get Camo and Dino-Rang for a trade (for Wham Shell, coincidentally), and Dino-Rang was all gone! And after I grabbed a Camo, there's only one of him left. Actually about half of my picture was gone. Still plenty of S1 Hex, a few S1 Lightning Rod. I didn't spot any of the others you mentioned, though I did see a LC Drobot and a couple of S1 Zooks. PLENTY of Flashwing, of course.

Also they had Eye-Brawl, Hot Head, Swarm and Crusher on their giants shelves, numerous of each. Saw them as well as Thumpback in the nearby EB Games.

They had 1 scarlett ninjini at ebgames in vicoria bc. They got a box with 6 different giants and she was in there.
Watch at Walmart for boxes to be put out. It's usually a large cart and the boxes are labelled small or giants. I alway ask for them to look inside. This is the way I scored them before they went on the shelf. Try the older the staff they're more helpful.

Picked up Polar Whirlwind at TRU last week in Vancouver. Nephew so happy (although he doesn't like the "girls" as much as others).
Good to know about LC Hex as Swap Force preorder - if you don't get her for 4 months, are you trusting that she will be available??
My faves - With Hex 2, Whirlwind 2 and Legendary S. Elf I can almost finish the game.

Today I was told the Sidekicks promotion is OVER, that the promotion went until June 2!

I'm in Montreal, Canada, and I went to EBGames at the Hippodrome Blue Bonnets, at Namur metro, and that's what they said (said with enough confidence that it seems likely the guys really did know what was going on and what they were talking about). He said whatever they had left was in front, indicating a secondary display of Skylander figures that isn't usually there, but no Sidekicks were there. Since out on the floor seems wrong, I checked and double checked that he meant this, that Sidekicks are usually behind the counter.

I REALLY wanted to land another Sidekick, so I went to another EBGames, where I got my Whisper Elf, at Place Vertu. Last time they said all they had left was Whisper Elf, and this time was the same, I caught a glimpse of several tucked away by the cash register, looked like at least 4, besides the one I got. Just got back 2 hours ago, had to report my findings in a PM first.

I was really hoping this promotion would go on for a while, seeing as this was our first chance to get Sidekicks, as far as I can tell over a year after the Lays thing started. I thought maybe they'd get restocked with Sidekicks, but running out of all but one was kind of telling.

I think Activision should make it up to Canada by making the Giants Sidekicks available here first.

BTW, neither store had Polar anymore! My intended purchase was Thumpback & Polar, to bring the price up high enough to get a Sidekick, probably Whisper Elf. I AM glad I was mostly able to get this, just had to replace Polar with Lightcore Shroomboom, to use for some later trade at a later date, for Wham Shell. Otherwise I'll sell him.

I had no idea Warnado and Dino-Rang were rare o.O There were a bunch not too long ago at the Walmart near Stockyards in Toronto [I was going out to get a Whirlwind but didn't know Warnado was a wind type too, so that worked out, lol]. I got those two along with a 3-pack that had Hot Dog, Zap s2 and a Catapult [now that I've used the Catapult it's not all that great ^-^;] I'm new to the Skylanders world & games, been trying to find Bash and Camo, either through online webshops or in-stores at retail-ish price that will ship to Canada, with no luck ._.; Any tips would be appreciated :3

I've found Camo at my local Superstore a handful of times. I would check there.
Otherwise, I'd check Walmart as well, as they had a sudden influx of the series one characters.
Otherwise, you might have to buy online. The eight figures that weren't resposed for Skylanders Giants (Camo, Warnado, Dino-Rang, Sunburn, Ghost Roaster, Wham-Shell, Boomer and Voodood) can be tricky to find in retail stores.

my local walmart still have some & in stocks but were all sold out.

Victoria BC Walmart had the Pirate and Empire of Ice Adventure pack. They were put in with the Giants 3 packs.
Was going to ask about the other 2 packs but they were busy. Plus the ones that were working aren't very helpful with Skylander stuff.

Curious what the difference between normal and Lightcore types are, do they register as a separate skylander in the game, or do they occupy the same character "slot"? Considering getting LC Jet-Vac and LC/Drobot [need a mech type still ^-^;]

Fandramon: Yes, Lightcores register as separate. At the very least, it labels them as Lightcore when placed on the portal, and it remembers that in the Collections.

As for differences, besides the obvious (that the figures light up like the Giants do), also the similar parts glow in-game, and the FIRST time per level that you place one on the portal, it enters with a big flashy POW that damages nearby enemies and breakables. If you do it on the ship, in the middle (the default spot when you boot the game), it shatters nearly all of the boxes on the main deck and a few boxes on the upper deck, across from Brock.

Also, anyone know what THIS case looks like on the inside? $13 is pretty cheap, it looks cool and will keep most of my current [small] collection off my desk XD

I would expect that this is the American card, so not valid in Canada. A proper Canadian card would have to be bilingual, English and French, this is likely why this card is separate and not valid here. As far as I know, all the major chains have a pre-order thing going on, does anyone know if any OTHER store in Canada is having a pre-order promotion? Future Shop, Best Buy, EBGames should all be having something if that's the case...

Remember, though, Best Buy and Future Shop are owned by the same company (which always gets me, two competing stores with pretty much the same stuff, owned by the same company). So if they took it all off of the Future Shop site, Best Buy will probably follow soon.

As for the case, I KNOW I've seen one in the store in person before. As I recall, it looks like you might expect, one round compartment. I rejected it immediately as my collection (like a year ago) was already too many to fit in this case. If you're asking about decorations/colours, I can't remember for sure, I want to say it's the grey brickwork design you see so often, like at the base of the Skylanders' boxes, looking like it's inspired by the portal. Oh, and pretty sure it's too short to hold any giants, at least standing up. Maybe Tree Rex, as I think he's the shortest.
