It does say a release date of 10/13, which is a very interesting...it's Swap Force release. I'm of the opinion that the preorder is ABSOLUTELY useless if they sell her before then---so don't count on it.

I'm totally aware the description says otherwise...that's why I was bringing it to the discussion boards. I'm trying to give everyone a chance to grab THE LAST Giants figure early...and for $1. I didn't think I'd get so much nit-picking from everyone.

It's there if you want to try it... all you have to do is add it to your cart. Why is everyone so quick to tell me I'm wrong before they try ordering it themselves? What do you have to lose... a dollar? Seriously?

If you look at the Detail tab or scroll all the way down you will see that you will receive your LC Hex on 12/31/2013. A month and a half after I receive mine.

Anyway... I hope everyone (ELSE) will understand that I was trying to spread some helpful knowledge.

It's not snarkiness, it is skepticism. It's ok to question info, not everything posted has to be accepted at face value simply because it might hurt the poster's feelings. Don't take it so personally.

However, yeah that has been up a while, the information/description is obviously concerning Swap Force. Best Buy uses additional line items for pre-order bonuses these days. It is probably an error it was listed and allowed for pre-order separately. Keep in mind that Best Buy in the small print allows themselves the option to cancel an order for whatever reason. They often do it when you order more than the limit, the item was posted in error, they won't restock on it or I've also heard of people that have been banned from online ordering for abusing clearance sales and excessive pre-order cancelling (to get a discount/etc. then not buy the game).

It will likely just get cancelled out in a few days and the listing fixed, but if you do happen to get them then that is quite a bargain.

Looks like you pre-ordered 3 Swap Force Starter Packs. The final piece is paying the balance of the pre-order ($73.99 x 3) to receive your pre-order of LC Hex. Did it ask what game system you were doing the preorder for? At TRS I had to specify I needed it for the 360.

And I completely understand that they may cancel it. I've had Walmart, Amazon, & Toys R Us all cancel orders on me... so I expect it somewhat, but it sure would be nice if it got shipped that way. Currently the order status is "order in process". I'll update this as my order progresses/gets cancelled!

Weird. It really doesn't ask for platform info or anything. I do agree that they will probably realize the error and cancel any orders placed, but oh well.

Not being nit-picky, it just looks like you're misunderstanding the listing. It says HERE you ordered TWO things. I'm guessing Swap Force and LC Hex. To me, they're doubling up on the listings which allow you to pre-order Swap Force, that this listing is working the LC Hex angle, targeting the people interested in her, that's all.

Nope... this is just the order where I ordered 2... I ordered 3 on the other order. There are 5 of us playing Skylanders in the house.

I still feel lc hex will show up for sale sometime after swap force.

I agree with you both on diff parts; I wouldn't be surprised if LC Hex was released around the time they do the Giants Sidekicks, once the SF pre-order hype has all happened and died down... I think we'll see her as a single later on this summer/fall, but we shall see!! As far as "strapping in" for more of this nonsense from them (like the current LC Hex tease), no thank you! This is one of the reasons why I'm done after Giants (as we've talked about before), so I'm not too worried about having to deal with these shenannigans they'll try to pull with SF!! But yes, I agree with you GhostRoaster that there is much more of this to come!!

I know everyone is tired of my pissing and moaning about twelve levels. I don't want to leave the franchise yet---but they're making it easy with reducing content like this, doubling the number of skylanders I have to pay $14.99 for (16 from 8), not announcing any forgotten 8 coming back at E3, holding one of the GIANTS characters hostage until the next game and making a pre-order of the next game a pre-requisite for it, for letting Gamestop have exclusivity of Polar Whirlwind, for replacing S3 character wow pows instead of ADDING content/features to it, for dragging out the release of these characters a FULL FREAKING YEAR, for reducing Adventure Packs from 4 to 2, for having THREE WAYS to buy Shroomboom while others are still waiting for a character they haven't seen since January etc. etc.

The only positive I've seen in the game is the technical advancement with swappable characters and Hi-res. They are big, but is being brought down by both lack of features, levels, and continued moronic business decisions. I'll reserve final judgement until then, so unless there's some AWESOME online feature or we get word that these side missions take 20-30 min to complete then I'll have to say I'm done, done done.

I don't want to do this. Sadly, DISNEY won't be at fault. ACTI/VISIONS will. I'll shut up about the negatives and keep it positive for the stuff I like until we know about what is REALLY in this game.

Oh I agree GhostRoaster. I personally don't feel the content will be all that limiting, the 12 levels (I hadn't heard that) will probably be meaty. But yeah, their figure shenanigans have to go. Fortunately, we have an option. We have a ton of figures we can use in the game right now and don't have to buy anything more than we want. You could just buy the game and have a ton of content already. That's kind of what I am doing. I don't like this variant crap, or the holding off Hex, or the resposing of the reposes. I have a hundred playable characters for Swap Force and don't have to spend another penny.

So, come Swap force, I'll get the game, and just the new figures. They told me plain and clear that "collecting" in this game is a never ending struggle where they are going to play crappy games with us and drag it out. I won't be able to complete my current collection without committing (or at least waiting for) the next game. They gave me the best reason to not worry about "getting them all" - they made it so I can never "get them all". By the time I can get the last figure, they have a whole new set to track down. I personally like to occasionally reach the goal post, even if it isn't lasting. So the simple decision to tease Hex to drum up sales for Swap Force (why in the heck did they think they needed that?) has convinced me I don't need to worry about around 30+ figures.

That is a potential alternative for me---right now it's "all or nothing" for me--and the un cool bait and switch with these characters, variants, etc may force me in "very restrictive" mode where I'll start just collecting new characters only, or some other constraint. Personally, I don't trust myself to keep within that goal and plus it will send a bigger message to Activision by hitting them in their wallets.

Trying to be pragmatic here (not negative)---this game will test fan loyalty if they keep doing the same thing bottom line. I think they are concentrating TOO MUCH in the toys and not enough in the content. I can appreciate 256 combinations and the time to program and test that...loads of stuff people will be trying out. Is there enough game for someone not to be bored to tears while trying all of this out?

Skylanders 4 will be out by the time you get yours

I had pre-ordered there prior to the Dark Edition announcement, and added the Hex with the game. After I changed to Dark pre-order I cancelled Swap Force from the order, but left the Hex out of curiosity since it didn't auto-cancel the whole order. Got the same email. I think that is there way of cancelling out the item (they sometimes make pre-order bonuses separate line items), I expect it to be completely removed eventually. I would not expect them to ship Hex out for $1, especially multiple of them without a Starter Pack. Best Buy's policies state that they can cancel orders for any reason - and they will do so. Lots of people have found this out the hard way one year when they oversold Black Friday items.

It is kind of weird though, typically pre-order line items show up with a high price ($50+) if the main item is not part of the order. I get the feeling that they changed their mind how to list Hex along the way, because if you pre-order now Hex isn't a separate line item.

For anyone who isn't aware, a release date of December 31st (especially if it's more than a year away) means it's just a placeholder. It REALLY means "We haven't set a date yet". Or if there was one, "We've unset THAT date, we'll pick a new one later". Though they also do this to pre-cancel something, to indicate they're thinking of cancelling and they change the date to give themselves more time to think about it.

My $1 LC Hex figures just got updated with a 10/13/2013 date...looks like this still might happen.

I got the email as well. I'm just hanging in there out of curiosity now. If they send me an email stating "Oops this was a mistake, you cancelled your order but not this so we are removing the order" then I'm fine with that. If they do send me a Hex, obviously that's fine too. I spend a ton there every year (if only they were better on stocking Skylanders...), so I think they come out to the better in the long run anyways.

Just in case anyone is confused (I know I was for a minute) by the OP in this thread (as of Sept. 26), this thread was started back in June. Nothing wrong with updating it now. Just might be a little disorienting for some viewers (myself included).

Yeah it is old, the updates were on emails received in the past day - it is a curiosity that won't be resolved until Swap Force hits. I know I was puzzled when I got an email telling me an item I had pre-ordered had a release date update - I was afraid they delayed Batman Arkham Origins when I first saw it.

Just got a box in the mail today from Best Buy. I opened it to find the 3 LC Hex's I had ordered from the website link. I did not order anything else from them just the three LC Hex's. When I checked my account found out I had only been charged $3 no additional shipping fees. I don't know what happened to everyone else here but I made out like a bandit.
