I guess it's a bit of human nature, you know? People want to fit in, and add to things - there's also the rush. It's not that for everything, but the desire to be accepted can make people use trends, memes and certain gimmicks amongst themselves. Of course, there's also the enjoyment in the way people react to ten million topics everywhere - as it can truly get on some people's nerves. Community is such a powerful thing.

And then there's the fact that "jokes" tend to spread, naturally, as people want to share or add onto things.

There's always a point where things will get out of hand for some people, a certain level of tolerance - and it's nearly impossible not to step upon that when it comes to some things, especially jokes.

Exactly.

People here can be very dismissive of others.. it's easy to dismiss people who actually stand up and voice themselves, it's easy not to listen to them when people are in a group who disagrees... and people can rather quickly and impulsively jump on that bandwagon sometimes. Although, as has appeared in multiple occasions on this site before...it's also easy for the people stepping up to ignore the disagreeing majority and yadada, even beyond reason...and especially after people in this majority have already attacked them.

People in any organized way can be extremely dangerous to those who are not within the circle, but they can also achieve greatness for people...as history has taught.
