Polar Whirlwind is supposed to be released the 22nd at Gamestop one of the stores said they had them in the back and were holding them until that official date. I checked the other Gamestop at the mall and they had them out on the pegs.

The GameStop by my work had them out on the pegs and even let me buy one. The guy said nothing about a specified release date.

Well that is why I said I checked two Gamestops one told me the release date and wouldn't pull from the stockroom, the other had it on pegs. Some stores don't read their corporate emails in time when they put something out. Nonetheless it is worth checking out your stores but if you don't find it, it's possible that it will be put out later.

I'll be poking around the ones here today and seeing about them tomorrow but it seems a saturday release is a bit odd for the figures since there isn't delivery to the gamestops around here on saturdays. It just means next week if not today we'll start hearing locations have them in.

Yeah, they don't receive shipments at all on the weekends, but if I'm not mistaken I believe Scarlet's official release date was on a weekend as well (same scenario where she was popping up at most places early)... I'd rather they just put them out when they come in like they have been... easier for the employees, easier for us, everybody wins!! I'll call a few around me (Indy) today or over the weekend, but I'm guessing it'll be next week for my area!

I was in Gamestop this morning to get a Thumpback for a birthday party gift for a friend of my son's and they did not have Polar. Actually they didn't have much of anything, maybe 10 giants, 6 battle/three packs and Starters - no singles at all. Toys R Us has a bunch of the usual shelf warmers and Best Buy does as well.

No Polar Whirlwinds where I live. The guy had never heard of it (and he wasn't an employee who was uninformed about Skylanders ... he knew about Scarlet Ninjini and even Swap Force).

Also, he was nice enough to write down my name and phone number to let me know if they get some in the store. This particular Game Stop has had the best customer service I have ever experienced. Other Game Stops I have frequented are not even close.

Went to gamestop and called 2 others ---all said 22nd--South Florida

I went to two today and neither had any idea when they would get them.

Bust here in my Gamestop in Charlotte.

Nothing in Ohio, most never heard of it.

No what is the eventUncleBob? I've heard nothing. We know one of GS's managers and employees pretty well and the employees said nothing. They had to look up Polar Whirlwind--didnt know off hand.

What event, Unc? All of my Gamestops are totally oblvious to Polar Whirlwind. Most think she is a chase variant, at least at my local stores.

What was the agreement for our bet again, Unc, on my behalf? With my life being so screwed up lately, I've forgotten if there was anything on top of the VV? Should I see stores in my area have them before the 22nd, or on the 22nd, I guess that means you win, which isn't a bad thing, because now I can give my youngest kid my euro-packaged Polar.

I saw an ad on Gamestop.com about a week ago for their Skylander event (6/20, I think) and can't seem to find it now. I just assumed it had to do with whatever Starter Pack sale they were running. Is this the day we should expect to see Polar Whirlwind?

I went to four GS and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I went to one Gamestop who had them out, took 3 to the counter and when the employee rang them up he said there was a street date on them and couldn't sell yet. So I went across the street to another Gamestop, they had them on the shelf, got 3 and the employee completely finished the transaction for me. They didn't even have those white Gamestop price stickers on them yet.

I went to Gamestop today and I asked and they said that they would be out on the 22nd. I also asked if they had anything else going on that day and he said yes, but he could not say until Tuesday.

It's clearly a promotion tied to preordering swap force. All the major retailers will be pushing this next weekend, each with similar, but slightly different promotions. Game Stop did well with having Polar Whirlwind exclusive on the same weekend as swap force preorder.

That makes sense Lesty---It sounds logical to me. I guess we will see.

Anyone know if they will offer these online? Sounds like inconsistent release and dubious amounts almost guarantees I won't get one in the store, especially considering my travel.
