I was browsing GAME.co.uk and came across this

It clearly states "Pre-Order Bonus! get this NEVER released Skylanders Giants LightCore Hex figure"

Do you think this means it is not coming to the UK before SWAP Force? Or is it a typo?

It says it everywhere else. She will be released.

She's already out in Australia. (Oops.)

I means that she's never been released yet. The way it's shaping up, it looks like she WON'T be either...in the UK or here in the States.

She is going to be released....... Don't start that whole she is never going to be released stuff. The worst case scenario is that she will be released in October. Which is dumb, but she will be released at some point.

I think we can learn from S:SA that we will have one figure that will be hard to come by. It might be lightcore hex, or maybe Slam Bam this time.

No, I think we all know she will be released (it is silly to think otherwise). The only question is whether it will be October or not and the text indicates it will be October.

I'm not buying Giants crap in October ... and we still don't know anything about the sidekicks. As soon as amazon.de/.it sites have them I'm going for it, or skipping it altogether.

I was referring to the top quote. The way it is laid out in that post it makes it seem that person thinks she will never be released in the EU or in the US.

Yeah posts are all over the place. Thinking it won't come out ever is silly paranoia.

I agree with Ghost. Buying Giants stuff in October 2013 is silly. Apparently they want to start overlapping games so I guess you will never be "done". I think it is a huge mistake on their part. I was iffy on reposes, lightcores and variants this time, but I ended up doing it when I was able to get some deals/three packs/etc. But now, they are basically saying "you can't get them all until we have more out". It kinda kills the desire, know what I mean?

I'll finish up Giants (I'm two away, so why not), get an import Hex if I can get one reasonably, if not will just I wait for the free one. I fully plan on getting Swap Force day 1, but collecting anything other than the new characters in a single form is becoming more and more unlikely. Hey, I love the game and playing with my sons and I like the figures. I just have zero desire now to buy a fourth or fifth form of a figure I already have and will work just fine in the new game, especially when they obviously plan on dragging them out until the Fall of 2014. I don't care if they dress them up in new clothes. That probably makes anywhere from 20 to 30 characters they won't sell to me next game. And I would imagine I'm not alone in this thought. I have no illusions that I can personally influence them, nor am I taking this position to "teach them a lesson" - it's just a dwindling desire to continue the hunt when it is futile.

The one downside is never knowing what figures are going to be brought in for the next game. Everyone and their half cousin expected Boomer to get a new version and currently...that doesn't look to be happening.

To be honest I've got mine in storage and look forward to grabbing whatever's left when the market crashes on them. It's a fun ride but I think parents will say enough is enough at some point.

I think she will be released but in limited quantities and then the rest will be for the pre-order bonus.I hope I get her with my pre-order in gamestop Ireland since they never even mentioned it.

Oh No, I meant that she hasn't been released (quoting the ad that she's "never before released"), and that she probably won't be released until October because of this Preorder stuff haha.

She'll definitely come out obviously, but the way it's shaping up is that she'll probably not be released until then. It'd be nice if she is, but that doesn't seem like a realistic possibility right now.

If that is the case what about S2 Drobot? I find it hard to believe that they would release one figure, which means we could possibly be waiting until October for S2 Drobot.

Maybe, who knows at this point. However, lightcores and regular series 2 are never cased together. They don't necessarily have to correspond.

Well, Wham-Shell was released on his own.

Then again, every normal figure except Wham-Shell was available in a triple pack.

Drobot isn't in one either.

He was in the Starter Pack. Why would he need a release.

SSA Gil Grunt, Spyro and Trigger Happy never got a separate release. That would matter if you only bought the 3DS version, but I doubt many people that would be interested in collecting them all would skip the console version.

Actually they did, but only if you attended E3 in 2011 and went by Activision's booth to check out their demo. Those figures, if still carded, go for an absolutely insane amount these days. There's at least one currently active thread about one that is (or was) for sale at the moment if you want to check it out.

But if memory serves, those figures are prototypes and don't wor in the game. They only worked on the special demo portal at E3.

Yes, but that doesn't count - the question wasn't really about whether you can obtain it as a single in some obscure form. They weren't available for retail, even overseas like Dark Spyro was. And as mentioned, I don't think they were functional.

Just to note, not everybody can or does buy the starter packs for the games, so single character releases are quite helpful.

S1 Ignitor and S1 Stealth Elf have a single pack but they were in the Starter Pack of 3DS, so S1 Spyro doesn't need a single pack because his already in a starter pack?

Better yet theres a single pack of S2 Cynder and S2 Jet-Vac and both are in the Starter Pack so TacoMakerSkys explain why S1 Spyro doesn't need a single pack? Is that your best answer is because his in the starter pack.

S2 Cynder and Jet-Vac needed single releases for those who bought the Portal Owners pack. Jet-Vac also wasn't in the 3DS starter and deserves a single even more so than S2 Cynder.

From the standpoint of those releasing the figures like TFB, comparing console game sales against handheld sales, more people are probably likely to buy the console version with it somewhat unlikely that one will buy the handheld and not the console, especially since the two are essentially different games. While I do feel S1 Spyro, Trigger Happy, and Gill Grunt should've gotten singles for those who did buy only the 3DS version or bought the game from a secondary market such as eBay or craigslist, in the end to those releasing the figures, it just seemed pointless to them as it would be the same as releasing a Tree Rex single, releasing a character nearly everyone with the game should have.

Before bring up Stealth Elf and Ingitor, like I said, they were probably anticipating higher sales for the console versions than the 3DS, with Dark Spyro being used as an incentive to buy the 3DS version to ensure people buy it. The same case is with Punch Pop Fizz and the Giants 3DS starter. A mere incentive to drive up sales. Stealth Elf and Ignitor were released in singles so those who were buying the console version as opposed the less expected to sell 3DS version would be able to have them.

I don't have 3DS either but i bought the Starter Pack anyway just for Dark Spyro but it would be cool if there was S1 Spyro single pack before Skylanders Giants came out for Spyro Fanboys out there that wants S1 Spyro single pack.
