I don't really think about the presence of God from a science/nature standpoint. For me, practicing religion gives me peace of mind and makes me happy as a result. <.<

She never said religion was stupid. She thought the idea of a supernatural, omniscient being was farfetched. And she only said it was farfetched to HER.

I wasn't calling ANYBODY stupid, and I wasn't hating on religion. I was questioning the idea of religion, and just stating my opinion. I didn't mean for it to be harmful or anything, I even expected it to just get completely ignored, like most of my other posts do. But I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT want anyone to be offended by my opinion on the subject. I'm going to request that everyone drops this, because I don't want anymore feelings to get hurt, and I think that we can be a little more peaceful if we just dropped it.

It's something to be careful with when used non-seriously as it can be seen as disrespectful, really, and I don't think there are many people who actually want you dead here...I don't think there are any at all. I understand self-loathing, not sure if I'd understand yours, but I have a bunch of my own. I had to delete a topic I made last night/this morning...bleh.

As I said in PT, it was hardly a "war". Someone just had a conflicting opinion and misunderstood you.

HDAZ: I get what you were saying, and it's fine if you don't believe in God. Frankly, I you did think religion itself and religious followers were stupid, I wouldn't care. I would love you just the same as it is your right to feel that way, as long as you still accepted the fact that I disagree.

Like in the sexuality topic, I'm complicated. I'm Christian. I believe there is some form of higher power out there. As to whether or not there is a heaven, a hell, or if that higher power chills out in heaven all day listening to prayers and granting them, I don't know and don't pretend to know. I don't really believe what's in the bible. I say the story of Adam & Eve is bullcrap. God created the Big Bang then guided evolution. I like to believe he/she/it can hear me when I call out to him/her/it for help or guidance, but really I don't know.

Depends on which gods we're talking about. For the god in the Abrahamic religions I think 7, though at times it's a 6.9 since some parts of the Bible may have been misinterpreted or edited. But I think the existence of a god not belonging to a certain religion is somewhat more likely, so in this case about a 4 or 5.
