Am I the only one who doesn't understand why he is basically the biggest gamer on YouTube? I mean I'm not hating at all, they seem like a nice person! And recently I heard that people were making fake news articles accusing him of horrid things, I feel bad for him. Anyways, I tried to watch his Parappa the Rapper walkthrough, but I just don't see it being one of the biggest highlights on YouTube. Like I said, no offence at all, but why is he so popular?

You're definitely not the only one, I'll tell you that.

I have no idea why he's as popular as he is, but sometimes his fans can be a bit much...

I really like watching his clips. He is rather funny and makes the games more interesting. Honestly I don't know why people are making fake news articles about him, he really doesn't deserve it.

I haven't seen his videos, so I can't really have an opinion on him. They're certainly not on my "Plan to Watch" list, though.

Most of his fanbase is out of control.

Some of his Let's Plays are fine, but... repeatedly telling game objects that scare him to 'shut up' and other things kinda put me off.

He's gotten more like that now, he used to not do that as much as I've noticed in his old videos.

Oh man, I forgot to mention this. I once saw someone say "OMG UR COPYING PEWDIEPIE!!1!!!!" on a CBFD walkthrough (when the funny thing is, it was made FAR before PDP even decided to play the game).

Watched one of his video and though I understand the jokes, they don't humor me. I also feel that I should back away from his videos. I think is his reaction to things.

I don't really like him, but then some of the stuff he plays is cool. It's this "**** I'm torn" thing.

His fanbase can grow the **** up, though. They're annoying as hell.

I watched one of his videos, didn't think it was terrible and I didn't he think was a terrible person - but it was very obvious that he was just over exaggerating for the money (Amnesia isn't scary, Happy Wheels isn't that fun etc).

However, he does the same thing as everyone else on YouTube that's popular - so maybe there's something about him that stands out. I watched another video and realised "wait, this is the exact same thing", and it always is. The same unfunny jokes, the same 'hitting the camera when I scream so no one can see I'm actually not afraid' act, the same turning the chair around to pretend that he can't even bare to look at the screen etc.

I have no issue with people doing horror games with scare-cam, but the best kind of scare-cam videos are when they are genuinely afraid. Amnesia is not "scream worthy" scary - so anyone who records Amnesia videos and scream is obviously putting it on. I also have an issue with people who insist on using scare-cam on any video. As an LPer, there's now some kind of expectation that all LPs must have a scare-cam or they're not good.

Well, sometimes people CAN be genuinely afraid.

For me, I'm actually terrified of Amnesia. So don't get so biased to the fact that you have to say "Amnesia is not scary at all and not scream worthy". It scared me ****LESS, thank you. :I

^ Okay, it's scary but it's not "scream worthy". The fear in Amnesia comes from the unknown, not something jumping out and killing you. People on YouTube videos do this annoying thing where if something is coming towards them and they're standing still (i.e. they know it's going to attack them) they only scream once it has actually attacked them. The fear would be the surprise that they so suddenly appeared on screen, there's no fear in being attacked by the enemy - you can respawn, The Dark Descent is far more forgiving than Justine (which really is far scarier).

Cry IS better. He's pretty much one of the best gaming youtubers out there. He's funny, his voice is awesome, he has some great commentary, and he's a pretty cool, chill dude.

I've watched a few of his videos. Some are fine, others are meh. I do agree that he's quite overrated, but I don't hate him by any means. He seems like a nice person and the people making those articles are ridiculous. Just leave the poor guy alone. He's just doing what he loves doing, and that's playing video games. There's nothing wrong that.

Personally though, I prefer Cry.
