I come from KC Missouri. I got my kicks on Route 66. Every truck stop from Boutte to MO. Motown to Old Alabama. From Texarkana and east of Savannah, from Tampa to ol' Kokomo.

I once ran the Indy 500, I must confess I'm impressed how I did it I wonder how close that I came...

Now I get a sinking sensation, I was the top of the line out of site out of mind so much for fortune and fame...

(I'm doing this all from memory.)

If anyone wants to see. Here's what I think the cars meanings are.

Blue Car: He was a regular old car, driving on an old dusty road in California. (Which is where I think the movie takes place because of the trees that look just too much like redwoods) His engine suddenly broke and his owner could not pay for repairs. He later met his fate with the evil electro magnet.

Pink Car: Her driver probably was a person who sped alot. She one day didn't turn in time. The car overturned and killed the driver inside. She was badly wrecked and was unable to move. She was later transported to Ernie's Disposal where she tried to escape but sadly was unable to move.

KC Missouri Car: He's most likely a Plymouth Superbird. I believe most of the Plymouths were produced in KC Missouri. His driver was a person who wanted to explore the country. She drove around and visited every truck stop nearby. She was very famous around the Route 66 area. Unfortunatley, her Plymouth got caught in an accident. The spoiler was destroyed in the incident. The driver was not able to pay so the Plymouth met a sad fate at Ernie's Disposal.

Wedding Car: She brought a Texan to a wedding. The husband might've become depressed from being too lonely and far away from family and divorced and returned home to Texas.

Hearse Car: He once had a incident with a dead person. The incident was that he was inactive for a few months and had a dead person inside him for a while. A shortage of hearses was on and it was soon realized he was beyond repair. They transported the coffin to another hearse. This hearse was sent to Ernie's Disposal.

Surfer Car: It's possible that her owners name was Fellini. She decided to take her boyfriend, Pico to Zuma beach. Notice the shark bite on the board? It's possible that she was killed by a shark and only her hand washed up on the beach.

Green Truck: He was a truck at the Hopi Reservation for the indians. He was took the kids and when they got out. He was called worthless and the kids took a bus back to Santa Fe. He was later found and taken to Ernie's Disposal.

I've known this song since my early childhood, if I started to post my many interpretations of it, I'd consume dark52's bandwidth.

Anyways, here's an extremely short extract of my aspects on the song. It doesn't tell us how the cars got there. It's about the many reasons depression arises, the disappointments of life and unity in death.
