It was a bit meh, especially compared to the previous episodes of this series, but to be honest that's what I was expecting for the start of a new story arc. The new story arc episodes always have the issue where they have a pretty weak villain and have to have more of the plot go towards the companion rather than solving the issue.

But yeah, I didn't expect much else to be honest so I'm not disappointed; just looking forwards to it getting back into the swing of regular episodes.

Whole wibbly wobbly time-melting stuff at the end of series was great (I don't think that was spoiler, dissolution of time is theme of like every third episode ). Which was your favourite Doctor? As much as I like Matt Smith, David Tennant will always be my favourite Doctor. I think both Matt Smith and David Tennant are brilliant.
Matt Smith is more funny and eccentric, while David Tennant is more serious, but he can be rather funny as well. I have to admit though I didn't like Matt Smith that much at first, and it took me a while to get used to him but after series 6 I started to like him.

Well, that's a bummer. I just started to quite like Matt after S7. If I knew that would have been his last full series, I would have probably made a bigger deal out of the finale too.

Also, it seems odd that after saying 3 weeks ago that he was set to return for S8 he's now said that he's leaving. The only thing that's changed is that they finished the 50th anniversary episode - which leads me to believe that David passed on Peter's advice who passed it on from Patrick that was "leave after 3 years".

Uhhh... Be careful how you word that. I know quite a few people that think the older Doctors are attractive. I have a friend that actually met and kissed Tom Baker in the 80's and she still thinks he's awesome. (Though Tom wasn't that old when he was the Doctor)
