They said a brand new version is coming out later for the 3DS, I just don't understand why they can't have both.

Actually the 3DS one should be out pretty darn soon. I'm guessing from now to June 5.
They could have least done some other options:

Hold it off until the holidays

Combined the 2 giving DSi flipnote an upgrade.

Or kept it up until a year or 2.

I'm not gonna lie, it pisses a lot of people when you do a douche bag move and just do it in the middle of a low economy season.

Actually, where I am, the 3DS is already out. I know about a handful of people at my highschool who have it, now.

Okay, let me tell you something. That is not how popularity works, you have to get a lot of views along with stars. So, adding stars to ya doesn't exactly work. The other thing is that they said they were transferring over flipnotes. But, it doesn't mean that your account will still be on the 3DS flipnote.

Honestly though it seems like they're preparing the 3ds Flipnote Studio+ Hatena. And Flipnote Studio DSi had a good run. Since the DSi came out, I think. What was it 4+ years ago?

Well, yeah. I know the day where nintendo would give up on the DSi. But, the way they planned it is terrible and dickish, they should have at least done this over the holiday season. That way the parents of the flipnote children (and other people) could easily have gotten a 3DS at a low price. Or they could have at least allow both flipnote apps up in a fusion so when they are sure A lot of people bought a 3DS they can take down the DSi portion.

Well, the 3DS one doesn't come out until August. And they took down the original. So I would say both, if you have the app already on your DSi you can still make gifs and watch, just no online (or possible re downloading)
