Well, I discovered what the black writing on the bottom of my Skylanders are. They're production numbers, and I want to know how to tell what batch of a Skylander I have. I'm going to share a few of the production numbers on the Skylanders I have so you can help me here: (i'll update this when I get more 'landers)

3DS SSA Starter Pack : S1123

PS3 SG Starter Pack :L3126

Replacement from Activision:S3117

LC :L4125A

S2 :E4126

S2 :E4125 (is with blue crystals)

S2 :E5120

: E4129 (with an "A" below the "Made In China" text

S2 , and Dragonfire Cannon: E3128 (cannon has an "A" to the right of the production number.)

I need to know what they mean. Does a bigger number=later batch? What are the letters for? I want to know.

UPDATE-5/23/2013: changed the title a little bit. I was thinking of starting a new thread dedicated to production numbers though. Is this one sufficient enough not to start a new one?

Nobody responded? oh well. I'll assume a bigger number means a later batch and the letters mean nothing.

I would like to know this too, seems interesting if anyone can explain it.

My S2 has W3126A

Well, the letter at the beginning might mean what factory it's from. I'm not an Activision/TFB employee, so I don't know either.

My triple pack has this:

W3127
W3127
W3125

Yes, I'm fairly certain the letter represents a specific factory. The numbers usually start at some four digit value, but not always. Sometimes a letter is substituted for the forth digit.. not sure what that represents? Typically by getting a figure when it has just been released is the only way I know of, of determining later batches.

To help contribute to a list of some kind and trying to deciefer it, from the ones currently sitting by me... I can even provide dates of purchase if desired.

People could represent thousands of numbers here and still not accomplish a thing. I am sorry to be a negative person on this one. But with out input from the manufacturer, I see nothing coming from this discussion besides speculation, and guesses.

I agree with DluA- the numbers are more than likely representation of what particular factory made the figure. This is the reason why we see "variants" like Blue/Pink lip Chill and Blue/Green crystals on S2 Prism Break.

If i had to guess, the number is the number of how many they have produced, ie Seiki's S2 Chop Chop for instance is the 3,124th of that figure to be made. The "A" could represent perhaps a secondary batch of figures. Maybe they cap at 5000 and after they produce a secondary batch? It's hard to say though.

I am curious as to what these numbers mean, and I believe there's some interest here (hence the speculation) but agree the official source needs to answer this one.

I mean, is series 1 Spyro's number the same as all series 1 Spyro's numbers?

Nope. The Spyro I got with my Wii Starter Pack has a different one than the single opened Spyro I got when Gamestop had some in for sale individually. The one is actually a much darker color too.

My S2 Gill Grunt I got it the second day or the first day or release at Toys R US, can't remember if it was wave 1 or 2, has E3127. Califronia locale

looks like some colors changes and head in another position.... my starter spyro are exact as yours but head position is same as your none starter spyro...

Hmmm my lightcore chill and Legendary lightcore chill both have the same production code. L4129A. Legendary I got in store from toys R us when she first came out, regular light core shipped from amazon, arrived today.

THAT is actually fairly informative.... That would suggest/confirm that all figures produced in the same production run (the same factory on the same day) get the same number. That would also suggest that your LC Chill and LLC Chill were made on the same day in the same place, maybe even the same set, kinda cool.

I wonder about the optional A... Might it mean the second run in a day? Or perhaps in the initial run they make, say, 1,000 figures, then toss ones that didn't come out right, then they do another run to replace the error ones, and maybe A is the error-replacement run.

As has been stated before, this thread is nothing but conjecture unless we can get someone from Activision to clarify things...
