Hi everyone, this is my first post so bear with me...
I have just started playing Giants after upgrading all my toys in SSA. In the meanwhile, I have been snapping up s2 figures and giants. I have 95/99 skylanders, an investment to say the least. I have read of other folks having problems with toys saving upgrades, HC's and quests in Giants. I have finally experienced this for myself. SOOOOOO disappointing! Has anyone found a solution to this? This is so frustarting as I am a "completionist", aka, OCD! Half the fun for me is having a fully upgraded skylander! Any thoughts? Has anyone successfully upgraded a character with all quests, HC's and upgrades? What is Activision explanation for this, if any? I do not believe this is a problem with my portal, as I just completed SSA with no issues whatsoever. Any help would be appreciated! I thoroughly enjoy these games but will be very disappointed if I can't upgrade my characters with all the extras!

Maybe the bottom of the figure is damaged or dirty? and by the way, ive NEVER fully finished a skylander! closest i got was level 8 bash with all upgrades - but that was on Spyro's adventure, so their weren't those questy things.

no, its proven not the base its problem, instead, people say its a portal problem, the portal isnt strong enought or smart enought to save the things u did with you skylander, it happens most un wii and it happens with the coneect wired portal alot, look around on and you will find more of this problem

The problem is you have a faulty, most likley damaged, portal of power. I dropped mine on a hard floorr and I experienced the same problem, but I replaced it with a new one and haven't had any trouble since.

Quite simply--if the problem extends beyond a single character I'd target the portal---if it is just one character it may be the figure. The figure has a reset capability in game---the portal you'll need Activision support for.

NO it's not a faulty/damaged portal, and I'm getting tired of people jumping to that conclusion. It just randomly happens. To nearly everybody. I generally don't get this issue, but I have on occasion, and my portal has never experienced any trauma to explain it getting faulty. Also, if it was at all faulty, that wouldn't explain why saving generally works most of the time.

And yes, I have several characters fully upgraded, or as upgraded as I can get, seeing as I don't have access to all Heroic Challenges. Must be something like 20 who have all quests, and probably close to 30 at level 15. Many of my characters are at around 30 Heroic Challenges completed. (I know in SSA I'm only missing Wham Shell's and Boomer's, and Wham Shell's is available in Giants, so I guess they're at 31 challenges in SSA, must be more in Giants).

The problem seems to be that the game gets lazy, not saving immediately. When I accomplish something (like finishing a quest or gaining a level), I grab some money. Money always seems to save immediately, so it's like a Save Now command.

Another issue I've seen is figures which are picky about where they are on the portal. My Stealth Elf and Trigger Happy, if I put them in the center I get the "There's a problem with a toy on the portal" message, but closer to the edges they work just fine.

So try other parts of the portal (the antenna is a ring around the rim of the Portal, so closer to that should be stronger), and try grabbing money before removing the figure from the portal.

i was trying to say that. but i ended up with the portal thing again, its an issue a lot of people see, i am exuly used to it, and it gives me more fun somehouw......

Thanks everyone for the tips. I do have a back-up portal that has never been used, I will try it, but like I said the portal was working fine last week when i finished SSA and is only acting up with the Giants game. This is happening with all my figures (I like to upgarde them 6-8 at a time and all the recent "crew" are experiencing the losses whether money, HC's or quests). I will definately try putting the figs on the edge of the portal ring and see if that makes a difference. I will also try the money grabbing trick. I have been able to get a few of them to keep some HC's and upgrades but I couldn't seem to find any rhyme or reason for it. I was hoping Activision had a better explanation or maybe a patch of some sort, but I have not heard from them and the answers I find on the internet seem pretty lame (like maybe they are not too interested or don't believe there is an issue). I love these games and I hope that they take a good look at some of these glitchy issues before they release Swap Force!

the fact is , i Always say you attack the toy with a cyber attack, the toy/protal cant handle that mucht data and will forget the half of it or even resets toys(happend to me) it only happens in Giants too, but you already have seen that

I noticed our Crusher didn't save when we finished a certain quest (even though we got the pop up on screen), but I did it again and it saved fine. Only time I think it has ever happened.

Did you use a Glow in the Dark portal? If so, use another one.
