Thinking since scarlet Ninjini was at every available retailer is the store only exclusive done with?

1. Blue Bash, and legendary = TRU

2. Gold flameslinger = Amazon

3. Jade Flashwing = Target

4. Molten Hotdog, Red Drill Sergent = Wally World

5. Scarlet Ninjini = All Retailers

Granite Crusher = Target , Molten Hot Dog = Walmart

Well, back when Universe was up, people found a third Gill Grunt icon. Wave 4 had Gill back, but there didn't seem to be any variants in wave 4.

Unless wave 5 has a variant Gill (meaning he's back in wave 5, like he was in wave 4), then perhaps he is an exclusive somewhere and will have a "Special" tag.

Outside of that, unless GITD Fright Rider finally makes it out in the US, I think it's probably done. I still don't think Polar is coming out here. I hear overseas (meaning not in the US), fall/winter takes place from March-September. Maybe that's why Polar came out overseas and not here? Just a guess. I still don't think it's releasing in the US.

Only 7 months to go, until Bob and I find out who lost the bet. I'm rooting for Bob to win, but... who knows. Only time will tell.

I bet there will be more exclusives in the future. I don't know the specific figure, but retailers love them and Activision likes to make retailers happy.

I think the original post is asking whether they have stopped doing store exclusive as Scarlet was avalible to all stores in the US.
However as it WAS an exclusive in every other country- its flawed reasoning..

Yes ... "overseas" fall/winter takes place from March-September ... the "overseas" you are referring to is the entire Southern Hemisphere of the Earth.

The places that Polar Whirlwind has been released so far are in Europe ... last time I checked, Europe is in the Northern Hemisphere, just like North America ... and therefore Europe's seasons are the same as the seasons we experience here in the USA.

I suppose there's a chance you were just "trolling" here ... and if so, I gladly admit to taking the bait. But if you were being serious about your Polar Whirlwind hypothesis, then it's really pretty sad!

I kind of figured they would have had Polar out at Christmas. Since that didn't happen, my next guess is a "Christmas in July" promotion with Polar out in July (the 25th).
As for the Gilly that GM mentioned, I didn't even realize it, but a "Special" could be a perfect release for their E3 exclusive. Although now, I kind of really wonder what they're gonna do now with codes since Universe is closed.


As for "store exclusives", I'd still assume TRU will have the Legendary versions. There probably will be at least a few that are exclusive to retailers. I'm not sure how exactly they do exclusives, but if I had to guess Activision shops around the individual stores and sees if any of them want an exclusive. If they end up passing, then by default, they have to just regularly release things. If you ask me, with the amount of headaches and stock the stores get, they're probably less likely to get them. Either they get too many (GITD Sonic Boom, Red Drill) or waaay too few (Jade Flashwing/Molten Hot Dog)

I was thinking, as a last hurrah, they'll do what they did with Blue Bash; Have fans vote for a special variant, they make it in limited quantities, and give it as a store exclusive

No no, he did, this is pretty shameful. It's a pretty basic piece of information to know how seasons work in the northern and southern hemisphere. If GameMaster is seriously that clueless, he deserves to know he's being laughed at. Especially since his little "theory", that Polar was released overseas due to seasons, falls apart since Polar was first available in Germany and Italy, both in the northern hemisphere, both with the same seasons as over here.

As for new exclusives, considering that people who hacked the game found all the characters it recognizes, the options are EXTREMELY limited. Pretty much only characters who currently have non-in-game variants (and so would look normal, but be labelled "Special").

Given E3 is a week away, my bet is on an E3 Gill Grunt. My luck if Polar doesn't make it here, as it is the only variant I haven't purchased.
