E3 2013 is exactly two weeks away and the last two E3's Activision has made special edition figures for the show.

What is your guess on the character for this show? And what will be the color/material?
Any chance they release a Swap Force character?

i dont think they rease a ssf fig.....but i would like to see another variant!

Ooo, I like that idea.

E3 2011's figure was in effect, Spyro, Triggs and Gill. That so far has been the only time a character has been released ahead of an actual game release.

2012's figure was a Chrome Spyro in an SSA pack, not Giants (although admittedly, I think I like the Giants pose more and they *should* have released him in that pose)

For 2013, I'd guess that Spyro is potentially a good wager. You've got the character recognition, you've got the exclusivity, and you've got the blister in the eyes of the public- it'd be perfect to release another one with a different paint job. Perhaps Bronzed or Gold colored. Maybe even translucent?

Personally, I think it'd be nice to see Tree Rex in a single. They could make him a different color, maybe even Chrome. It's kind of surprising to me that we don't really have any "variants" for the Giants- only L-Bouncer, Platinum Hot Head and Scarlet Ninjini.

Anyway, I was hilariously thinking about this a moment ago, and I actually reckon they'll just do Spyro every year. I hope not, he's overplayed. If not, then they'll probably hopefully do the "main" character each year(Tree Rex for Giants, Wash Buckler for Swap Force).

I hope they aren't "Chrome" every year. That would be lame and predictable

I think it will be a Trigger Happy with a metallic finish. Not sure on the color, but pretty sure on the metallic finish. Metallic seems to be the trend lately with these special editions.

If they did something similar to another lander I would be very pleased (of course the context of the change would have to make sense).

I could see Gill Grunt being the character too.

Pearl Hex and Purple Cynder are both just about the same value = $225 brand new.
Prices on Cynder have been dropping in the last month though, which probably gives Hex the edge.

Honestly, now would be the PERFECT time to release a Kaos figure, but perhaps with a modified RFID. Anything like these would do...

..Maybe that automatically unlocks Nightmare? Or allows you to switch it on and off?

I would buy a Spell Punk of each element. Not really enemies but I would very much buy a wilikin and a ghost.

I still think it'd be perfect for them to create "Boss" figures that'd unlock previous levels and enemy fights. Heck, this'd be great for the 4 Adventure Packs- one for Vathek, Occulous, Captain Dreadbeard and ..I dunno, I guess one of Haldor for EoI. That'd encourage people who already have the sets to pick them up for the special figure, and allow people who don't have the sets to play them. They could even release the one of Kaos for a "retro" level- you'd simply playthrough the Lair of Kaos level and fight Kaos.

But alas, I think I'm wishing too hard.

Eye-Small, and yes. We've seen the Giants sidekicks from the same toy display that that Kaos was shown in as well as many other figures such as a Glumshanks one and prototypes of various others.

Other than the figures being shown here and them being coded into the game, we don't have much else evidence of when, how, or really if they'll be released. I know everyone says they'll come out through a Frito-Lay promotion around the same time the last one was, but honestly, I would like some proof before I take unprovided release dates and methods as fact.

I rather suspect some form of Special S2 Spyro for E3. If not him, Tree Rex or Jet-Vac as Tree Rex seems to be the mascot for the giants and Jet-Vac the mascot of the Giants newlanders. Why this is, I'm not sure, just how it seems to be to me.

Reminds me of Tie Fighter after X-Wing came out. That would be cool to visit "retro" adventures but this time your job is to ACTUALLY stop the skylander. It would definitely be harder.

Imagine ambush but 24x7. And of course the bad guys moves would be very limited, making it harder to boot.

I want something with Sonic Boom. Chances of that happening is nada though.
Maybe they'll release the Green and Red prototypes of Bash? That would be nice! That red one was gorgeous!

I would think they would want to put out a S3 figure too to gain excitement for the new game, maybe a repose so it could be used now on Giants/SSA. The RFID storage specs for the figures might not be finalized yet though, limiting that possibility.

IMHO, they should release a muddy brown version of Prism Break. We could nickname him "Poop Break". That would be awesome.

His original S1 looked really gross.

SpyroS2 that is clear with an E3 logo on it.

Part of me hopes they make a special variation of a character without a variation. Something like Camo, Terrafin, Lightning Rod. Give them a little love.

On eBay what price range do people think it'll be? Also, based on history--is it best to buy right away--or waiting a few months? I guess I'm wondering what the general pattern with price has been--

Wait a week minimum for enough to pop up, but not too long. The first few are almost always ridiculous prices trying to capitalize on there not being many auctions, these are the people that put up their auction on their phone while they are buying it. By the time enough people get home and get them up the numbers will cause the prices to drop. Auction price is driven by rarity and the number of people bidding on the items vs. the number of items available - more items = bids distributed, less auctions consolidate people and drive bids higher.

What's up with the silver ones? Are they the oldest--the rarest--why are they SO much more expensive consistently----?
I am slowly collecting the SSA variants and find some ok prices and pick them up here and there--but I have never ever seen a new unopened silver one for anything under $250 and usually $300

Yup, they're the first ones that we saw. Not to mention that Boomer is part of that group, but they also don't have the Level 5, 2100 coins thing if I'm not mistaken.

I'd like to retract my previous prediction and also suggest Gilly. Actually, I should go dig up that image I made and see what other guys were on there. I think there was an extra Whirlwind. (not the special one, there was already one for that)

When E3 comes out, go onto the Los Angeles Craigslist, as there mostly there. That's how I found alot of Chrome Spyros.

I'm guessing dat Gill Grunt variant we never got that showed up in that Universe picture.
