Stopped by my local TRU this morning and chatted with the guy in electronics. Only going on his word right now as I have no other proof but he says that after the smoke clears from Scarlet Ninjini, the next big thing will be a new TRU exclusive legendary. He claims it's Tree Rex, which sounds friggin' amazing to me. Purely going on this guy's word at this point with no other proof, but if its correct I'd say that's something to get excited about.

Unless it's a returning favorite figure for Swap Force, it's not possible as various folks have long ago hacked into the data files for Giants and discovered all of the characters that are ever going to be available for it. Just as with SSA before, due to the fact that the Wii can't receive software updates, no new characters will ever be added to Giants by Activision/TFB due to the fact that the wouldn't just be able to release a patch across all systems. It sounds like your TRU contact is either seriously misinformed or trying to get you excited so that you'll keep coming back in constantly and drumming up business for his store.

I don't believe it. Too many times have a talked to store clerks and they don't know anything about Skylanders.

I have nothing to gain from this, not trying to get hits for my site or views for my channel. Just some interesting conversation that struck me as exciting if there was a chance it could be true. I'm used to games that get updates from time to time so it never crossed my mind that things couldn't be added down the road. Oh well.

Unfortunately with Skylanders there isn't any wiggle room for surprise variants since all the characters are already coded in and to date neither SSA or Giants have received updates to add characters in. Because of this, people have already gone through the code and revealed all possible characters before they're announced like how we found out about the Sidekicks.

I don't think anyone's dogpiling on you but it's good to take anything a retail employee tells you about Skylanders with a large grain of salt.

And for the record I'd love another Tree Rex variant since he's kinda my bro.

I made my own. If only I knew how to recode the RFID.

Have they ruled out giants being in Swap Force?

They haven't revealed if any of the 40 (16 core, 16 Series 3, 8 Lightcore) non-SWAP Force characters will be Giants.

Gnarly Tree Rex -- very, very unlikely. I'm sure Nintendo paid for exclusivity on that to promote the WiiU.

Green Gill Grunt -- no. However, the secondary market on Green Gill Grunt seems to be trending downward recently, and you can get him off Ebay for less than $15 including shipping.

Gnarly came with a wii, not wii U. It could be possible gnarly "might" come out by itself somehow at the very end as i doubt many bought a wii for it. I however highly doubt it but hell stranger things have happened.

There won't be a Legendary Tree Rex out for Giants. Maybe Swap Force, but that's probably unlikely at the moment until we get more details on how Giants will work in the game.

Of course if you're like me you could definitely make your own!

I don't think so, she might be release everywhere like scarlet ninjini.

I agree with Hex on this one. Why would they make Polar an exclusive when they just released Scarlet everywhere like a regular figure.

Who knows not everyone knows skylanders. i was told the mini stealth elf was hex by a gamestop guy. i was told there was no whale giant skylander back 2 months ago. I was also told by a tru that they don't sell skylanders and to try a sporting store.

Legendaries are probably up in this series. This is just speculation but I noticed the folowing.
Legendary:
Tech- Trigger Happy
Life - Stealth Elf
Earth - Bash
Magic - Spyro
Undead - Chop Chop
Water - SlamBam
Fire - Ignitor
Air - JetVac
Giant - Bouncer
Lightcore- Chill
The reasoning I come up with they have 2 waters and 2 tech is actually not the element but the type. This covers core types and gimmick types.
The same applys for lightcore, 1 of each elemental type and a legendary variant
Now once swap force comes around I can see them making another batch to go with the gimmichs of mobility parts and elements for them to make legendary swappables or something. But as for this area I think were at the end of em. I could be entirely wrong mind you. Its just observation

Maybe it's a pre-order bonus for SWAP Force, IDK. Seems as if there won't be any more characters because of all the hackers.
