Went to FYE at Concord Mills tonight--man their skylander selection is weak (in fact, they had quite a bit of dust on them)...BUT:

1. Ignitor/Zook/Chill 3 pack is there if you need it
2. Starter pack is $49.99 there this week...add in McDonald's coupon and it's only $39.99.

Only "hunt" visit I made today was Target on Rea Road. Their current stock sucks. Almost all Cynder, Whirlwind, Flashwing, Swarm, and Stump Smash.

Not sure why this is ... but it seems the WalMart at the Arboretum has SSA Adventure Packs on clearance for $15.00. It is not marked anywhere on a sign or sticker near the Skylanders display. But that's how they are ringing-up at the cashier. I have not noticed this at any other WalMart, although admittedly I don't frequent WalMart stores, so I'm not 100% sure whether or not this discount applies at other WalMart locations.

They did not (of course) have Darklight Crypt in-stock. They did have the other 3 Adventure Packs at this discounted price though.

I'm not sure if Target still has their Adventure Packs at $15; I bought a couple a few weeks ago at that price.

I have to admit ... I have never heard of that game, and I haven't even thought about Nintendo NES since I was probably 16 or so.

That is really nutty that something so rare and obscure could be found in a Goodwill store.

The history behind that game is that it was supposed to have been destroyed--it was never technically released. If you follow some of the high end gaming auctions, where they sell every cartridge or games sealed this is more or less the holy grail. And when you see the game on youtube, you'll laugh.

Anyone here that EVER sees a Darklight Crypt, pick me up one (make sure there's no cardboard damage). I'll be FOREVER grateful. I suspect they will be available eventually so I'm trying to hold out.

Paid another routine visit to Target on Rea Road yesterday afternoon.
Their supply/stock of Skylanders has reached an almost embarrassing state of lowliness.
Absolutely nothing new appears to been shelved there over the past two weeks. I can't say this with 100% certainty, but it appears that they've made a conscious decision to NOT stock anything new until people clear-out their current stock of Swarm, Cynder, Whirlwind, Lightcore Jet-Vac, Flashwing, and Dragonfire Cannon packs.
It may be working ... but it's gonna be a SLOW process.
What are the rest of ya'll seeing currently at other Charlotte area Target locations? Same situation or different?

I haven't been to Target in a while...Best Buy's stock seems to have a steady flow now at my location near Northlake. Nothing new, but they are always getting new stock in--and it seems to be of a decent variety. I'm always tending to go on Mon-Tue to stores and I'm noticing almost everyone is wiped out on the weekend---

sounds like Wed or Thur is the best "hunting" day in general--would like any advice.

Can't say I've noticed a particular day of the week being any better than others, although what you said about Mondays potentially being lackluster makes sense.

I visited the Best Buy in Blakeney today ... pretty lame stock there ... a WHOLE lotta Stump Smash.
Then went to Target at Blakeney ... it's Shroomboom Central there, with a side dish of Cynder and Flashwing. Pathetic.

I have not yet tried the Northlake location. Good? Bad? Not sure?

I've seen Wrecking Ball, Spyro and Hot Dog 1 out of 3 times I'm there. Yes there's the overstocked Whirlwind etc but they seem to go through their stock pretty quickly...no lie though---they've been trying to sell 3 Empire of Ice APs for a year--they are all beaten up and stapled together--think they need to take a loss lol.

However, stock levels are low. They have a dedicated Giants display that's empty...a Giants play area that's totally empty and perhaps half the pegs are full---but--stock is varied enough. No Zook or Ignitor or early wave stuff...you're not getting away from Shroomboom...

The Target in Rivergate had a good selection of Skylanders and the Spyro Adventures packs as of Tuesday last week. Lots of against single pack figures too, varied.

I am heading there again tomorrow, so will see what they have now.

I bet if they had a rare variant of Flashwing or Cynder, they'd be easy as hell to find..

Scarlet Ninjini is in Charlotte area GameStop locations as of today, 5/14/13. Called several stores, all confirmed.

Yes, those Gamestop stickers are a pain. If I collected sealed figures I would rather have the Europe peg hook than one of those stickers, especially given some stores love to put them on the bubble.

I worked at Electronics Boutique (now Gamestop) way back in college when they first started using those kind of stickers (only shipments came with them, we had to use the price gun for anything we had to make a new sticker). If you use a low power heat gun or hair dryer carefully you can remove them without damaging the sticker or the package or leaving residue, that's what we did because we preferred those stickers since they had a scannable UPC and we had to type it in for the price gun ones when making a sale. For some reason Gamestop didn't use the package UPC, but their own UPC code instead.

Here's today's report:

As mentioned above, GameStop stores in Charlotte put Scarlet Ninjini on their "pegs" today. Price is $15.99 each. You can get a free "sidekick" figurine if you spend more than $19.98 on Skylanders stuff. Appears that each GameStop location received 6 or 12 Scarlet Ninjinis. The one GameStop that I visited today (Arboretum) didn't have anything noteworthy in-stock (other than Scarlet) ... lots of Crusher and Cannon Packs.

Target stores all over South Charlotte continue to be occupied by stale inventories of Flashwing, Cynder, Swarm, and Crusher. The number of Flashwings continues to be absurd.
The Ballantyne Target location continues to frequently re-stock SSA Adventure Packs .... except for Darklight Crypt (of course). That location also has two SSA Starter Packs for the PS3 on the shelf, on clearance for $35 each.

The last time I was in Target Rivergate it was pretty picked over. I will be there Friday so I will check it.

Targets won't sell it before Sunday; it will block it out at the register. Go Sun morning first thing.

It's a good thing Target has it online...there's a ton of people going to Target today that will be disappointed especially with the Sunday ads out today.

I went to two targets, right at open time, and they each only had one box of W5 labeled boxes with 6 Scarlets. Limit 2. I'm guessing by 10a0m they'll be sold out.

FYI if you need the DCPI it is 20701148.

Not sure about WalMart---I avoid that place at all costs. Some TRU flyers suggest they will get a min of 20 as opposed to 6...so technically better odds.

Today's report for Charlotte: Pineville Toys R Us had about 18 Scarlet Ninjini for sale at roughly 11:00 AM; limit 1.
Best Buy @ Blakeney had 1 Scarlet Ninjini left on the shelf @ roughly 2:00 PM.

I didn't look in any Target or WalMarts today.

Sorry my Targets yesterday was the Super Target @ Northlake and North Charlotte Target at UNCC.

Report from Monday:
Toys R Us at Concord Mills was cleaned-out over the weekend. I was really surprised by the amount of empty pegs/shelves.
Surprisingly though, they had a bunch of Bouncer. I know people have been saying Bouncer has been harder to locate recently (which is true), but this particular TRU location had a bunch!

How stocked was the Pineville one by the way when you checked it? I'm heading there tomorrow to get my friend and myself our starter kits.

Pineville TRU had a decent variety of Skylanders on Sunday morning at 11 AM. I imagine they might have been heavily shopped in the afternoon on Sunday, though, so it could be slim pickings there now. The manager there (Scott) told me they usually get shipments on Thursdays and Saturdays, but that it can vary.

Well went Wednesday and got my friend her 360 Starter but had to come back today to get my PS3 one as they were sold out Wednesday. I picked up the last Scarlet Ninjini and I only saw two yesterday so I'm not sure if they had any in the back they didn't restock or they went through the two and whatever restocks they had.

I'm shocked she's on the shelf anywhere--but TRU is the best bet based on lack of stock I saw in my local Targets.

This was at Pineville TRU but like I said the one I bought was the last I saw on the shelves in front. I don't know if there has any hidden Skylanders in other parts of the store but I got there well after the time the cashier said everything they got would be put up so again unsure if they'd actually have anymore.

Now that Lightcore Pop and Lightcore Chill was sighted on Amazon let me know if you see these in store. I'm guessing we'll see those next week.

Bought Xbox starter pack for 24.95 + tax after McD coupon tonight and got the last Bouncer from TRU. They are gone gone gone.

Today's report: terrible. Target shelves continue to be dominated by Flashwing, Cynder, Whirlwind, Swarm, and Lightcore Shroomboom.

It's been that way for close to two months straight now.

Monroe Walmart was restocked recently, all the Adventure Packs aside from Darklight Crypt. Still a good amount of SSA figures but I think aside from Voodood, if even him, none of the Unreposed 8. They have had at least three Wham-shells though.

It's funny, I see that too. However, they are getting restocks, those are just the ones that aren't selling though. I see various other figures mixed in from time to time, so stock is obviously moving through.

Went to the Target today on W. T. Harris near UNC Charlotte and saw two Bouncers and a single pack S2 Sonic Boom. Would've picked up the latter if her and her kid's paint job weren't so bad. Walmart only having the crappy glow in the dark ones doesn't help my search.

Anyone been able to snag Polar before her 22nd debut? All of the stores I've called is falling in line with the corporate message.

Also, any S2 Drobot anywhere?

I think the ones that broke the date did so last week only in some areas, by this point they are well aware of the event and won't break it. Last week when they started coming in at some of the stores nearer their warehouse the event was still somewhat unknown. I'm glad they aren't breaking the date, makes it easier for the people that can't drop everything and scour stores. Which Gamestop you planning to hit up?

I could PM you where I'm going if you want to hold the fort with me. I need to pick up some gifts for my son's friends birthdays - and I like to get them cool ones, especially since it makes it so I don't have to ask which ones they already have.

And no on Drobot in our area so far. You know how Walmarts are around here. I'd ask them to check in the back, but given this comes in a box with a bunch of older ones getting them to make the effort will be especially hard. Geez I hate it when Walmart gets stuff first.

In regards to my S2 Drobot searching: I just checked the WalMart near Concord Mills and there were setting out a W3 box...so that answers that question lol. I asked and they said to check back tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. I did get a Prism Break 3 pack though and they had a Fright Rider 3 pack but I didn't get it as it was dinged.

TRU was a DISASTER...absolutely nothing but Whirlwind and Flashwing...no lie.

In regards to Polar: I'm planning to hit up "certain" Gamestops in the surrounding area. If they do have them I will see if I can get just 2 per location...I'm assuming they will only sell 1 though and I'll have to resort to eBay for the remaining count. Frankly, I'll be happy with one so we can unwrap it and use it. In any event, I simply want to end the looking...it's seriously not fun now.

Yeah that Walmart is a dead end. I saw that Fright Rider pack yesterday. They are VERY inconsistent with stocking and I have yet to talk to an employee there that has any clue about Skylanders. "What is out is all we have" is the standard answer. Always. I had ONE guy that didn't even work in that department that was only there to help out dig Molten Hot Dog out of the back for me when he came out. And he only brought out that ONE and left the rest in the back, despite knowing none were on the shelf. They weren't put out until a couple days later when you found them.

TRU has been a bust for a while. They got good about a month or so back and got in a good amount of stock, but nothing since. All the ones that don't sell are all they have, and given they have an entire row dedicated to it, it is a pathetic display. At least I know the employees there care about it and have some knowledge, so I know they don't have stuff in the back they haven't stocked.

Could I join, I'm from Salisbury, about an hour from Charlotte.

Traveled up to Northlake today, outside of my typical territory for "hunting" ... and the results were very lackluster.

Best Buy was terrible.
GameStop was terrible.

Both stores were very picked-over and had lots of empty shelf/peg space where they display their Skylanders.
Of course, both stores had a healthy supply of the Chop Chop/Shroomboom/Cannon "battle pack" and Swarm.

Target was slightly better. They had Bouncer and Lightcore Pop Fizz available.

GameStop Arboretum: mostly Crusher.
GameStop Stonecrest: mostly Crusher and Hot Head
Target Stonecrest: almost all Cynder, Whirlwind, and Flashwing. They did have several Scorpion Striker packs, too.
Toys R Us Pineville: they currently have a huge stock of Giants, including 6 or 7 Ninjini. They also had several Scorpion Striker packs, and the Series 1 Camo/Warnado three-pack.
You can get those Giants 2-for-$22 at Toys R Us currently; that promo ends today.

Anyone in Team Charlotte spotted those bags of chips needed for the "sidekicks" promotion?
I haven't looked aggressively, but to-date I have not seen any of these bags in local Harris Teeters or Target stores.

Yep, got them last Saturday at Harris Teeter. They had several so they are coming in, it just depends on how low on stock they are I guess when the Frito Lay guy comes by.

My Harris Teeter was a bust. Will look again tomorrow since I'll be home and about doing shopping. Ironically, the section I saw the bags were scarce so I'm guessing they WERE there and sold out.
