Yes, I was agreeing with you. It was difficult to quote all of the concentrated stupid from the other thread and this one, so I just quoted yours since it was basically the last thing and I agreed with it causing more harm than anything.

Thought I'd follow up regarding my gamestop experiences--I went in today--the manager said he'd heard nothing--I told him to look in his internal email--he looked and said "oh, here it is, it was shipped on the 9th so I just don't have if yet. Stop by on Tuesday or Wednesday and they'll be in." Now, of course I'll try to go in each day this week and see if I can get one.

Found her today at my local Gamestop. Got there just as the UPS man arrived

Went to 2 Gamestops this morning and both said they'd be in tomorrow. Both also said they were only getting 6 total or one box. I think the most frustrating thing about Gamestop is that they rely on UPS to ship all their stock so there's little to no point in arriving when the doors open at 10am because UPS won't have been there yet. Then I get to play the waiting game between 10:30 and noon at the mercy of the delivery.

My son and I just scored 2 in NY. They had gotten 12 had 9 left. They just got them from ups at 330 est per the employee. He also was cool and gave my son 3 sidekicks instead of 1. He would have gave him all four but he didn't have any terafin or whatever its called: .

The Sidekicks promotion is going all through May. It ends May 31st.

I aim to try to go back and get a Trigger Snappy and a second Whisper Elf since a friend wants her. Though I may not accomplish this as the only things left for me to get are S2 Gill Grunt, Pop Fizz, Ninjini, Darklight Crypt, and Dragon's Peak. If I can find them in singles, Dino-Rang, S2 Slam Bam, S2 Drobot, and S2 Terrafin too. Sadly the main GameStop I go to only ever has S2 Gill Grunt out of that list.

Snagged 2 today at about 10:35 EST. There were 11 on the shelf so it looks like 2 cases. Also the sidekicks don't appear to be marked $999.99 anymore. I'm told they got a new reinforcement shipment of them to go along with the arrival of Scarlet.

My awesome wife got me a Scarlet Ninjini at my local Gamestop yesterday! They mentioned nothing about a 05/14/2013 release date. Also, I verified that Target stores this Sunday 05/19/13 will have them in their ad. My local store in O'Fallon IL has only 15 and they will be limiting these to one per person. So get their early!

Just grabbed two Scarlets in a GameStop.

The sales clerk could've been stupid like the one I checked out with when I got my Scarlet. I also picked up a Flashwing when I got her to get a sidekick and when I was checking out the guy said I'd get 3 sidekicks. I politely asked how I'd be getting 3 since I thought the promtion was 1 for $20. He checked and found out I was right so I ended up only getting Gill Runt.

Out of all the retailers I but Skylanders from--Ganestop employees are the best! I suppose it has something to do with the fact that they are small and specialize in gaming--but beyond knowledge--such great customer service!!

I noticed this too, but since I've never bought a Giant besides Scarlet (not counting Tree Rex from the starter), I just thought it was a mark-up of Giant figures in gerenal for GameStop.

My GS got one in and it was gone in 5 minutes.

Picked up one at my local Gamestop. They said they had gotten six in and there were four on the shelf when I got there. My son will be happy.

Confirming the above; GameStop is tagging an extra $1 on to the "normal" retail price for Scarlet Ninjini.

Stores are receiving either 1 or 2 boxes of Scarlet Ninjini (meaning 6 or 12 per store).

Any store claiming that "we only received 1 Scarlet Ninjini" is lying. The employees are either holding them for customers that called ahead, or they're holding them for themselves.

Just picked up 2 at a Roseville,CA game stop. They had 4 left.

I bought two Scarlets and he gave me 3 sidekicks cause he was being nice. I'm assuming someone did the same for the above too.

Just curious, why does it seem almost everyone is buying multiple Scarlets (and other new figures when they come out)? There can't be that many people that have a sealed collection. Hoarder mentality. You know, when it is hard to find certain figures, we are our own worst enemy. Doing this just encourages scalpers that there is still big profit in Skylanders, and it tells Gamestop they were right in bumping up the price. In a few weeks there will be a bunch of posts on how people that couldn't get out to get her cannot find Scarlet anywhere (just like with Jade). It is a shame that kids that cannot get their parents to run to the store when it opens will have to miss out or pay extra from scalpers.

I noticed this on another forum that doesn't frown on scalping like this one does. People were proudly boasting of buying as many as the store would let them buy and putting the extras on EBay. I find it depressing that the first thought in many minds when they track down a rarity is to just increase the rarity for other fans.

Personally, I used to always buy 2: one for myself and one for whichever friend came looking for one because for whatever reason they never listen to me when I tell them what's going to be where and when. Now I buy a 3rd as I've been giving away figures and other merch on my blog.

This is only for variants. Everything else I only buy 1 of.

As for "hoarding", everyone's opinion will vary on this, but I do not consider buying 2 to be "hoarding". Selling one on the secondary market is fine, in order to help cover the cost of the one you're keeping. Also, some people buy the 2nd one to stash for an upcoming birthday, etc.
Now ... buying 6 would definitely be hoarding. But 2? I don't see a big foul there.

I used to think about it this way, until I realized that if they cared about it as much as I thought/wanted them to care about it they would be at the store when it came out like I was. Don't get me wrong, I have picked up a figure for a friend, but only if they specifically ask me to and intend to pay/get it from me immediately and I am just saving them a trip or splitting shipping costs.

I just get the feeling that people see limited figure and go all hoarder mode or see dollar signs.

I just saw a guy elsewhere that boasted how he bought two and sold one on EBay right away. Then not five minutes later on a different Skylanders thread he was complaining about not being able to find a few other figures he needed in stores. He apparently misses the irony.

They encourage buying two figures. That doesn't have to mean two Scarlet Ninjinis.

As far as selling one on the secondary market, well that is ground well trodden. It's not ok. You take that figure little Johnny could buy for retail and make him have to buy it for more than that to in essence get yours for free. Or you could buy your own figure and not depend on other fans to prop up your hobby. Not sure how it is valid to justify getting something for "free" while others have to pay double (or more).

And buying a stash for potential unknown birthday gifts is practically the definition of hoarding. The Hoarders show is filled with people that have piles of stuff they keep because they *might* need it later.

I'd jsut like to say, defpally, that when I've seen 3 Scarlets in stores (2 at the one I bought mine at), and only bought one for myself as I only wanted one. Sure, the thought of scalping one crossed my mind, but I was happy to have the one I got and is all I need. Though I am still on the hunt for a regular Ninjini, never seen one in stores...

Personally, I bought one for my daughter and one for myself. However, had they allowed me to buy more I would've to obtain a full collection of sidekicks. It's a LOT easier to sell an extra Ninjini then say a Drobot from Series 1 which my Gamestops seem to have in abundance. If they'd just sell the sidekicks outright, I think it'd deter buying up the rarest of the stock to get a collection.
