Well, it's a bit confusing. Yes there is a DVD release, but a lot of cinema's are starting to list it for theatrical release. It's not even just a 1-day showing deal, where the movie is released in theaters and on DVD at the same time; every cinema is showing it on different days around June/July.

I imagine if Lauren Faust was still working on the show, this Equestrian Girls thing would be better designed since it's current design is nothing like how Faust designs human characters. I really don't like the anthropomorphic uncanny valley between ponies and humans. No human has pony ears, wings or skin colours that aren't black, white, yellow or red.

They kept the ponies skin colour for EG like it is in the normal show because if they used realistic people colours they'd have to chose races for them. That's hard as I think most people imagine them as all being white.
Unless you include Zecora who is obviously black.

It's a cartoon movie about humanized colorful ponies. There's no need to be so critical about it not being realistic.

Real horses can't throw up, but the show has shown/implied ponies in the show throwing up. The anatomy of the ponies in the show is nothing like a real horse; no one would be able to ride the Mane 6 or any other pony in MLP: FiM. No real horses are naturally pink, let alone being born with rainbow-colored hair. Real horses don't have wings or a horn, and they can't talk. That isn't realistic. So why does it really matter that the humans aren't realistic either?

Because, I think, did not say 100% real, she will Sunset Shimmer, Equestria Girls version. Sunset Shimmer gallery. The resemblance is very similar, although I do not understand why is the villain, if she is good pony for the fourth season of the original MLP: FIM. Some believed that Chrysalis (Equestria Girls version) would be the villain, but I see that only drew to give more references to this. Even the OC pony: Milky Way was found, but transformed into a man. I mean that, she applied the Rule 63 of the Internet. The CMC also, Vinyl Scratch, and other characters.

Then, on my part, I have more faith that this will be something great. And not a complete failure. Although, even I do not like the idea that Spike is a dog, but it is obvious. In the real world, the dragons do not exist, so, they let him like a dog. And this kind of humanization of the ponies never liking me. Because they look like Bratz, with the colors of the ponies. And as a spin-off, so, nothing to do with the original series.

I really don't mind the look of EG now. Looks much better than I had first thought. Except for Twilights supposed boyfriend; that whole concept is something that turns me off from watching it as a series.

I still don't like the fact this spin-off keeps the same technicolour skins from the main show (Do YOU know a human with purple skin?), it's even less subtle than a group of teenagers having the same colour scheme of clothes as the Power Rangers.

I'm developing an aversion to the franchise in general. Ever since one of my friends started forcing the brony subculture on everyone around him, I've just been afraid of getting lumped into the same catagory.

Also, EG looks more like an odd furry fantasy than a legitamate show.

Plus, to everyone who's knocking the skin colors, am I the only one who remembers Doug? Skeeter looked like he needed CPR constantly, no one really complained about that. Or maybe they did, I dunno.
