Activison said that it would last into summer, summer starts in June. They have to told out on some wanted variant to get people out there. This is why I still think scarlet and polar have been held off till May and possibly even June.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for the Polar I ordered from the US last month. Sigh, I was gonna trade it for something, but it will be beyond worthless now :T

Right, not a US sighting/announcement, but... This has been on my mind for a while.

Long story short, I asked both Game and my local Game store on Twitter whether they knew anything about Polar. Few weeks passed, nothing, but suddenly...

Best I can figure at this point is they decided to hold back on the final four until mid-May rather than trickling them out. We have rumblings of Polar and Scarlet now being mid-May, so maybe they figured sending out new shipments of Pop Fizz and Chill Lightcores would not be a big enough splash since they aren't "new" figures and wanted to make a bigger bang with the last of the releases. I just can't figure out why they went dark for what has been almost two months on a game that is seven months old when they still have unreleased figures - kids are moving on and Skylanders is falling off their radar until Swap Force. My son is more into Luigi's Mansion and Lego City at this point.

This is what one of my local Gamestops claimed when I called just awhile ago: Polar was supposedly in boxes randomly and was shipped randomly. She said some stores had her, but again, as a random. Of course, I didn't believe her. I also was sorta put out that she kept interrupting me when I was trying to ask specific questions with "nope nope nope". I've never had such a rude response before. They usually let me ask and THEN tell me no. She did their usual speal about how they won't know if something is in until it arrives there. I also loved the comment that they'd "only had 2 exclusives" when I tried to mention (while being interrupted multiple times) that they've sometimes had a company-wide message sent about exclusives before, so had they had one this time? Gamestop has had 1. Royal Double Trouble IOS exclusive 2. Scorpion Striker exclusive for a month 3. Golden Dragon Cannon exclusive and 4. Sidekicks exclusive w/purchase. That's 4 exclusives, not 2. *sigh* I've NEVER heard such a rude response at this Gamestop before. They're ALWAYS much nicer than most of them. I guess it just wasn't her day or something but still....

Not to justify the rudeness, but keep in mind the massive amount of misinformation going around. TFB/Activision gives out little to no release information, which leads to wild speculation. When you have heard for the one millionth time a customer that insists that what they heard (or have a friend that told them) that XXX is out in stores, you don't have as much patience for it. And I'm sure they have gotten hammered with questions about releases, for which they are given next to no "official" information.

Also, they are only human, and sometimes they pick up their own hearsay that sounds plausible which they will pass on in lieu of real info (like the Polar in random boxes nonsense). Some people have had Polar for several weeks and some will assume it is out here (like when they posted the image on the Facebook pose and said she was "rare") and just hard to find when in actuality the person just got in online from Europe.

For example, back in October I talked to a really nice TRU employee that was into Skylanders that insisted that Eye Brawl accidently shipped to some stores. Of course he was wrong, but I don't think he was intentionally lying. It's best to just recognize they don't know what they are talking about, thank them and move on if they aren't are invested in their rumor. If they are chatty, then you can share more accurate info.

I think your advice is excellent.
It's important for all of us to remember that retail store employees are not necessarily bright people, and they are definitely not privy to all the information they would need to really keep customers accurately informed about upcoming arrivals and releases. I know it takes extra time and effort, but when receiving a "hot tip" from a retail store employee, we REALLY have to take the time to corroborate that information with MULTIPLE retail store employees, preferably with employees at multiple locations. If one doesn't corroborate, then it's flatly just hearsay.

We all want the latest news and info, and it is frustrating that Activision is extremely tight-lipped .... just remember, everyone, that Activision is probably just as tight-lipped with retail store employees as they (Activision) are with the consumers/fans.

Oh I understand the problems with Acti vs the retailers. Acti loves to hide info from them, or make life miserable with the same numbers for all figs, for instance. I wasn't rude to her. I was very polite, waiting till she was done with what she said before asking questions. She kept interrupting me with "nope" though, even when I was trying to ask different questions. I wasn't asking anything out of line. I was trying to find out if they'd had a retail-wide bulletin about any figs coming out, but she never let me finish asking that. Even when I commiserated about the crap Acti puts them through, it was like she wanted me off the phone and out of her life. I know there can be bad days in retail. Believe me, I KNOW! I've worked retail. When you have to deal with people leaving gobs of clothing and trash in the changing rooms and store floor, critising you and your store for things that aren't your fault, and then asking your religious status/sexual orientation/anything personal when it isn't their business, you learn patience. You count to ten. You tell yourself to do as you wish others to do for you. It's hard, but it's possible to do it.

I never called her a liar on the phone. I knew she was wrong, but it likely came from unreliable sources that made her think it was true. It's just annoying to deal with all the crappy info, and Acti being a pain. And then there's the fact that I'm dependent on this site, retails sites, and brick and mortar stores to tell me what's out. If I could divine the info myself I would. And share it with you guys of course!

Let's all not post anything for a week. Maybe if we all just forget about the game and the figures maybe we won't care to return. Problem solved.

Personally, there's nothing REALLY more to discuss on this game other than these figures coming out. Whether or not Acti wants to "bleed" the ending into summer months is irrevelant...other than us completionists most if not all of their customers have Giants off the grid--it's justified with the bad store stock and lack of movement. I'm sure most of us are tired of skylanders and frankly need some "me" time away from the franchise before Swap Force.

Add to the demise of web platforms is really creating an interesting vacuum in the market...again I'm not sure if that's "on purpose" or not--but it's happening.

It's going to be interesting to see how much Activision reacts to Infinity in the upcoming months. I'm gonna love to see them squirm.

What Acti needed to do, and STILL needs to do is to make Skylanders have an online multiplayer element. They could even have multiplayer missions if they wanted to. The "vacuum" created from Universe going down could be filled with that at least. I played Universe a bit, but it wasn't very interesting to me. Maybe I'm too old, I dunno. But if they did that, they could bring in people. Of course, putting it in NOW witht he game already slated for Oct could make the online multiplayer a rush job, but they could just have it as buyable dlc. They've done that all the time with other games. I'm always suprised that there aren't any goodies to buy on the Marketplace for Skylanders. They've missed the boat on that. All the avatar items alone could've net them something.

Now you say we should just leave and then we won't care about the game. But really, why are you here on the forums if you have no interest? That doesn't make sense to me. If you're tired of the fandom and the game itself, so be it. I wish you the very best, and hope you enjoy life to the fullest. This isn't sarcasm btw, I mean it. I won't get mad if you hate Skylanders now. I will though if you start flaming, but you don't sound like you want to am I right?

I'll admit that I think competition from Infinity sounds interesting. I do hope it brings out good things.

Ok, back to topic. We have no confirmation as of yet on an exclusive for Polar here in the US, though she is in other countries. Unclebob hinted at something happening in May but we don't know what it is. COuld there be a polar release here in May? Anything's possible. I've been calling to find out and neither TRU or Gamestop seem to know a thing. All websites involved seem to have no info either. It looks like it's a wait and see.

I'd have to agree, the vast majority of the stories I have heard have been positive, and personally I've been fortunate to have two orders that came without a problem. Keep in mind that if people have a positive experience, then they are likely to say nothing, but if they had a negative one they are practically guaranteed to complain about it. That skews the sample size toward "negative". I didn't read of a single person that didn't get their figure and were denied a refund, and several got both.

Well my order said may 4th, didn't come yesterday. Maybe it will come Monday.

Yesterday was a Saturday... Don't know about where you live, but around here the post office doesn't deliver on the weekend. Neither do the other delivery companies, except when they charge special rates and such. I guess in Europe they do, it seems like they keep predicting Saturday for me, LOL!

My polars and several others came today who had the estimated arrival of the 4th (saturday) if you don't mind paying a bit more for shipping and per normal price of figure for polar, 2 runs you about 36 bucks and approx 5-6 business days average for standard shipping. So ordering anytime now you'd probably see her before the US release of scarlet.

Amazon.it is the only Amazon site where it is being sold directly by Amazon at retail price. Polar Whirlwind is listed on the other Amazon sites, but is only available from third-parties.

People had the same doubts about Scarlet when she first appeared on Amazon.de, and now we're on the brink of having her. Some people already have her. It's just a matter of being patient and having faith, trust, and pixie dust.

That would be too convenient for all the collectors! Also for people new to dealing with Activision, meaning you haven't played the Guitar Hero or CoD franchises, they are all about milking everything they do bone dry while maximizing their profits.

Order was due may 4th, nothing yet. I mentioned it to amazon.it they said if they dont appear by the 22nd i can request a refund. I said i'd give them till the 25th (saturday) and if nothing either take a refund or another set. I will prob go the 2nd set route unless signs of polar for usa appear by then.
