I also really dislike that they do these exclusives, i have to look at my collection not being complete, when it is in the real world
Plus if they want rare skylanders there is already a heap of variants that actually exist they could make..

^but those variants are just color swaps.
actually even in-game variants are just basically color swaps as well.
if you think about it, Lost Islands Skylanders are actually very unique.

I hate the fact that ingame variants are currently only recolours with a slight stat boost. I don't think that they should be like totally new characters, but Lost Islands shows off much more interesting ideas. As it is they're some of the hardest, yet most worthless, characters to find.

Slap them into a box and give them a more noticeable stat boost- something to appeal to hardcore collectors that won't peeve casuals who might still want them. Every variant in Lost Island is far more enticing, cool, and worth bragging rights than the photoshop splashes we have now. I wish that my Christmas PS3 bundle had come with "Ornament Tree Rex"!

It doesn't affect me as I have vowed to stop buying them. But, most people would rather have a Skylander with a little extra touches rather than just a new colour, I'm sure.

No it's not a bad thing. If they made them actual variants, I may buy them. But the devs made the variants Lost-Islands exclusive, but who knows?

That would involve manufactoring entirely new figures, so they wont ever do it- its not worth it for them, plus the detail on something like lucky boomer would be impossible to do at low enough price. There is a reason every exsting variant is just a re-paint..

I think it would have been nice to have them as specialty variants from the get go. I mean, why even create a variant of a character when you KNOW full well that you could make a pretty penny on people buying it. That just seems like a bad business move. (now I'm sure there's other reasons, like not putting in the character in the main games...but those could just appear as "Special", but on Lost Islands they appear as their Personas)

As of now, I don't see them suddenly flipping the switch to make them real, but I'm still hoping someone out there who's good at customizing could make one. Heck, if S2 Flameslinger comes around again in the next wave boxes and there's a sale, I might just pick one up to make my own.

Certainly it wouldn't be too hard to make anything, even for Buddy Wrecking Ball or Lucky Boomer. Just get some sculpty clay and you're good to go.

I think they need to release a complete new game with no re-posed characters--give the new guys a chance to shine.

I don't think so. Activision is probably going to release more exclusives, which we don't really need.

I think it would be a cool idea, although I don't play Lost Islands.

A little off topic, but does anyone know if we will ever get Lost Islands on Android?

I have a Galaxy Note 2 and a Galaxy Note 10.1 which are starving for some real Skylanders apps! At the moment I have Cloud Patrol on my Note 2... often crashes when it cant connect to a server within 10 seconds and wont work at all on my Note 10.1 :-(

idk, i do have an Android but don't play app games very often... that might be a question for the app developer who makes it for the iTunes store??
