After about 80 stones (give or take a few), which was actually all I had, I won him on the very last stone. I also won 55,000 coins like four or five times. I LOVE this Luck Meter!

By the way, did anyone notice what Willy is now a kid and not an old man? LOL

Took me 145 stones. I was hoping to get some gems, maybe a shrine or tree rex's house. Ah well. With all the new prizes, seems like they could restart the luck meter and make the top prize a giant's house or a shrine or something.

I do like the luck meter, but I'd get rid of all the trees and bushes snd bring back gems. Otherwise, a lot of people won't be able to get things like giant houses and shrines.

I got him 75-80 stones. Got a bunch of coins, energy, and a bunch of decorations and an undead shrine.
I like the new meter and reward setup.
i wish there were still gems, but really they need to lower the cost of gem items for 100 to be worth anything.

As far as I can tell, the Luck Meter builds every time you cast a stone into the well and does not reset until you win the Alter Ego.

Oh, that's easy if you really have nothing better to do with your time. When Hoppity came out last month it was a challenge. That was the same update that increased the level cap from 10 to 12. By the end of the day I not only had Hoppity at 12 but had leveled the other 62 from 10 to 12 as well.

And I must say for anyone considering getting Cherry, she really does significantly increase the number of elemental totems. I've gotten 115 of them since getting her yesterday and have had as many as four elemental totems at one time. Now if only the wish stones were more useful. I used less that 10% of the ones I had to get Buddy Ball. I'm back to 1564 of them now. I had 1603 of them when he was released. I shudder to think what I'll have by next month. With gems gone from the prize pool, there just doesn't seem to be much point in using them until there is another grand prize.

You didnt answer the question, HOW did you raise that level from 1 - 12 in one day?

I think its bogus. I use the game every day and it takes forever to go from 11 to 12 even putting the character thru adventures, etc.

You probably hacked the game and cheated or are just plain lying.

Also, 115 totems. What? You think we are all idiots or what? Even using Cherry they only pop up maybe 4 an hour which would give you 96 if you didnt sleep. So more BS.

If you want to feel important, maybe you should try to do something better with your life than playing games all day. You impress no one by lying.

I sent him on adventures, what other answer is there? I used an Adventure Airship rather than a balloon so the XP is higher and I have Flynn so the time is very reduced. I had him adventuring CONSTANTLY for several hours. What exactly would you like me to say? There was disbelief last month as well until I posted screenshots of my collection all at level 12. //forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/viewposts.php?topic=77423

Except I'm not lying. I'm not sure of the algorithm the elemental pillars use but I have gotten four at a time multiple times. Prior to Cherry I never saw more than two at once. And pillars are appearing considerably more often than they used to and frequently in multiples.

I admit right now I really don't have anything better to do than play video games all day. If I wanted to feel important I'd go into the office. Playing video games all day is what vacations are for.

Same here. But in order to earn that much XP for 1 Skylander would take 24 hours of running 1-2 minute adventures and that's a best case scenario and not even factoring another 61 Skylanders.

So how's the blue box? Bigger on the inside? smilie

I figured that was why you asked. I will admit minor time travel was involved.

The figures for Cherry however, did not involve time travel.

I suppose I should elaborate a bit. The time travel was not used the way you are assuming. It does allow for a higher than normal gem supply though. The figures for minimum time assume the adventures are not sped up...

Without time travel it takes a minimum of 24 hours to level from 1 to 12 when you factor in Flynn and the 25% bonus from adventure airships.

But that's only if you do nothing but 1 minute adventures for that 24 hours.

I don't care either way what you do but you're confusing some people here by not saying you've done all this without cheating.

Your math is wrong. It can be done in less that 18 hours. Use the 2 minute quest, it is 50% more efficient. You only need to do it 530ish times.

The two minute quest can be sped up for 1 gem. So, if I was really impatient it can be done as fast as I can click for a mere 530ish gems. I'm not that impatient, but with judicious gem use the time can be brought down to around 3 to 4 hours for about 400 gems. No time travel is needed. In this case it took more than that because I also completed Buddy ball's quests as they came up. The gems needed for the quest required adventures are much higher, but they also speed up the XP considerably.

Now I admit I have sometimes used time travel purely for the purpose of collecting gems. Enough gems are available without time travel that I rarely need to. On those rare occasions when I want to buy a gem item and don't have enough gems I buy gems. I am a programmer and understand that is how games like this survive. On this particular occasion I didn't need to use time travel. I've had a month to accumulate gems naturally and had no problem leveling to 12 without any need to cheat at all.

On the day Hoppity was released I used time travel to collect gems. I admit that. I never actually claimed otherwise. I already had the two million energy on hand to spend.

You are right. I sat there for about three to four hours doing this. And I do enjoy the game. I'm just frustrated by the lack of new content. A new Skylander brings a grand total of three new quests along. Yes, I could have let those run their course at normal speed. That would have stretched it out for a few days. Unless new quests are added before the end of the weekend I would have found myself in exactly the same place a few days later. I will be happy to retract my complaint about the level cap if that should come to pass. I got to level 35 in a few weeks without any need to time travel. I've also had a lot of spare time on my hands lately. I play this game a lot because it is one of the few on my iPad that don't require an active internet connection, thus it gets played more, particularly while travelling.

How is my math wrong?

The 2m quest (1m with Flynn) rewards 25xp when completed using the Adventure Airship.

25 * 530 = 13250 which is nowhere near 40000. While it's true I didn't factor in XP from the personal quest, depending on what the quest is it could actually slow you down if it requires a 4h+ adventure to complete.

Now 25 * 1440 = 36000. This is obviously closer to the 40000 needed to get to level 12.

My point stands: You'd have to be extremely OCD in order to level a Skylander from 1 to 12 in under 24 hours.

Or you can just cheat like crazy.

I mean the quest that is 2 minutes with Flynn. It gives 75xp with the Airship.

75 * 530 = 39750

530 * 2 = 1060 minutes = 17.66 hours

Yes, but level 10 can be achieved in a much lower amount of time. Only a third of the total XP needed for level 12 is needed to get to 10. Without using any gems I have gotten to level 10 in under 9 hours and level 8 can be done in under 3. I've done both before. I don't dispute being OCD. Judicious use of gems can reduce those times as much as desired.

Are you sure? I admit I'm working for memory, but I don't recall it being that high. It is possible I am remembering the wrong level. Despite my best efforts I can't find a breakdown of level vs XP online. Next month I'll make a point of mapping it, but I don't think level 10 is that high. Either way, I think this is going in circles. Next month I'll do it again and document time, level and gem expenditure as I go.

But this time try it completely without any gems and off course without any cheating. Even if you have time to play this game all day long you will then need several days. Actually this game is not made to play it all day long. Most of the time you are waiting for the timers. Tasks like getting 50 flocks of sheep or collecting five times from a building with a refresh time of 48 hours will need several days or even weeks. Or you pay a lot of real money ...

Gems are too hard to earn without the well having them, though. My son saved every gem he got last month and still got nowhere near Ninjini's house. Hardly seems fair. I've spent money on gems twice, but now that my kids play too, I can't afford it. Besides, they've made their money off us. My son owns almost every skylander out there for the console game, and because they limit code use, we bought the bluetooth portal set, plus my son has skylanders 1 for wii, 2 for wii u and 3ds. He's spent 90% of his birthday and christmas money and asked for them for bday and christmas presents as well every time for the last couple years. His brother and sister are a little less crazy, but they probably go 50% Skylanders for everything. Bottom line, we need gems back in the well.

Speaking of which, I am about to hit level 30 on my kingdom and I have every one but cupid flameslinger and lucky boomer thanks to my son and the bluetooth portal. So, what happens in that situation?

The stupid 48 hour building quests really suck. Particularly the one you only get at level 30 which did no good at all for all of us who got it before the level cap went up. The sheep/troll ones actually aren't bad. They spawn all the time. Even the harvest 200 houses or community building ones are easy, they only took an hour or two. The mass adventure ones aren't much better. I've got enough balloons in storage to do them in rapid order too.

To be honest, as frustrating as the slow grind of this kind of game is, it was more of a game then. Tree-Rextravaganza broke the game. I had the gems to buy the Tree-Rex house and statue. After that I stopped growing energy unless a quest required it. It simply stopped being necessary. With no need to grow crops the gold built up fast. The last two islands were trivial to acquire. With gold and energy effectively infinite, I could afford to build anything I wanted. Mabu population skyrocketed. With all the extra buildings, XP was fast and rapidly maxed out. At this point there is no challenge left. There was a brief period when a bunch of new quests popped up a couple weeks ago, but even they only lasted a few days. And that was without gems or time-shifting. Things are simply so maxed out that even the stupid quests requiring a thousand clicks just don't take any effort or meaningful time. Even gems are plentiful enough between six giant houses and gifting that they are near meaningless. The changes to to the wishing have reduced the gem income. It remains to be seen if it has reduced it enough to change the game balance back. Either way the game needs something to change. Everything they introduce seems to just make the game take less effort. That needs to change.

For people that joined later, like me, losing the wishing gems is killing me, and my kids, and I'm lucky if I have enough energy to fuel all my sanctuaries when they come up. I wish I had your problem. Not sure how to get unlimited energy, for example.

I also don't want this to keep going in circles but thanks to bjornolf we can accurately break down the time or cost it takes to get from 1-12. The times listed assume you are starting the adventure as soon as the previous one ends with zero delay between the two. All calculations factor in Flynn and the Adventure Airship. Personal quests are not.

Levels 1-10: 19,000xp
1m quest at 25xp: 760 minutes or 760 gems

Levels 11-12: 21,000xp
2m quest at 75xp: 560 minutes or 280 gems

Total Time: 1320 minutes (22 hours)
or
Total Cost: 1040 Gems (Approximately $20)

He's megacute and I finally won him today!

Did anyone win one or more giant houses? I'm just curious if I should use more wishing stones for those or save them for next months alter ego.

Nope, never got a sniff, just two useless sculptures.

I won him yesterday after 130 stones. I also got a lot of gold and bushes and hay bales and whatnot but no shrines or giant houses. It seems like they might actually be harder to win than the grand prize skylander!

I tried to follow my son's Legendary Trigger Happy as best I could, but some level ups happened during bigger missions, so a couple might be off by a hundred or so:

Level 2 = 50
Level 3 = 300
Level 4 = 900
Level 5 = 1700
Level 6 = 3500
Level 7 = 5500
Level 8 = 9000
Level 9 = 14000
Level 10 = 19000
Level 11 = 28000
Level 12 = 40000

Yes, it is 40000. I got one of my Skylanders to finish an adventure at 39999, and it was still level 11.
