Could someone confirm what Glitter Sonic Boom will register in Giants? I know GITD Sonic Boom registers as "Special"---just wondering if I'll get two separated registered characters or do they both say the same thing when viewed in Collections...
Thanks!

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed. |

I could've sworn someone showed that they were different.

I know both are "Special"... this is the only use case that I know of in Giants where we have more than one "Special" variant of a skylander in the same series...hence the question.... I'm hoping the game knows and understands them uniquely....but I'm having my doubts.

That's what I meant. Trust me, I have most of the Special ones! Just need the Glitters.

In this video there is only one "Special" Sonic registered to him...the question is did he have both Glitter and GITD? Glitter Sonic is on the way to me now...only Stone Whirlwind remains for me on Giants. I've registered everyone else and know how they appear...this is an interesting situation and wondering how the game handles it.

A friend with both just told me that while they both show up as "Special Sonic Boom" when placed on the portal, only one special icon is in the collections total.

That sucks. I bet a few Glitter Sonic Booms have a different programmed Special tag.

Does the Double Trouble that comes in Battlegrounds show up as Special? Not Royal, but the other DT.

Another epic fail on Activision's part...they can't think more than half a step in front of them it seems...first game doesn't even allow you to recognize them in game (which increases potential "fakes")...fixed that in the second game and now can't handle more than one "special" character in game.... If I'm going a step further...they should officially call these variants in the game for what they are instead of just "Special"...that would solve it once and for all... Series 2 Glow in the Dark Sonic Boom Series 2 Glitter Sonic Boom etc. Who wants to bet they didn't think that far ahead in their dataset on the chip and they don't have enough characters? Excellent question---couldn't stomach myself to go pay for the BattlePack...my gander is that this would show up as a Series 2 DT (essentially the same as the S2 single pack). Quote: Matteomax
Nice theory...now prove it.

I too have been wondering about this, and if this indeed is the case, I agree that it does sour the taste of the Glitter Sonic Boom headed this way. Seeing as how they are taking baby steps with minute improvements on the set chip, I am hoping Swap Force will resolve the issue on said chase variants.
Swap Force chase variants will be something very different on the figures that are swappable if they decide to release such a thing. Top half chrome bottom half clear, or any combination would be awesome. This is for those brave enough to remove from the packaging and commit such brave acts. And for the figure to actually show up how it is dedicated like Ghost said would be a plus on their behalf. Even better for me personally, to actually show up in the game as they appear on hand.

^I agree, and when viewing collections it helps makes sense of everything you have...I enjoy the game cataloging my collection as there is a sense of accomplishment going through all of the character screens--now they need to do a bit more to raise the bar on the next installment.

nope, even though it is the S1 pose with a giants orange base it shows up as a regular S2 double trouble in game and also registers as one |

Just confirmed Glitter Sonic doesn't do squat if you already have GITD Sonic. Shame on Activision!
