So I'd figure I would start a topic to help the community get the best deals and save money. Post any recent and local ads in your country state etc. This week in the U.S. Toys R Us has 2 for $20 on Skylanders Giants in store, and 2 for $24 online U.S.A. Also if you live in the U.S. and Toys R Us is a long drive in comparison to Wal Mart, you can always price match. Take a screen shot with your smart phone or print out the ad/coupon, and show it to the cashier when purchasing.

In addition, Walgreens gives a 10% to 15% discount for military members and their family members. Just show military I.D. and ask for the discount. They do sell Skylanders there, and quite fast. There was a peg full of them and in two days only one is left hanging on the peg.

The problem I see with the $10 off Starter Packs is that anyone on here probably already HAS their Starter Pack. This is also to a lesser extent true of getting it in the first place, the people interested in the toys will mostly be families who already have the game.

Which begs the question, why make it SPECIFICALLY on the Starter Pack? Why not make it on Skylanders Merchandise as a whole? (Maybe $10 off any purchase of at least $30 or something to avoid completely giving away figures for free).

The coupon could be used for a 3ds starter. You could get the starter for 59.99 this week at Wally World and get it for 49.99 with mccoupon.

^ It also can be used for Battlegrounds. It's a good time to get Royal Double Trouble or S 1.5 DT.

I highly doubt the coupon will apply to already existing promotions.

Why wouldn't it? There's no restriction listed on the coupon about it not working with a sale price. The coupon will be honored even if the Starter Pack is already on sale.

Using this, you can buy the 3ds pack for like $30 at kmart, who needs the game just keep the figs!

The coupon comes with the figures themselves at McDonald's. Each figure can be bought separately for $1 (U.S.) So, spend $1 and get a toy and the $10 coupon.

It says that copying it is "expressly forbidden", so I'd doubt any store would accept the scan anyways.

I know I've already mentioned this in other threads, but most of those are buried off the first page of this sub-forum now, I think.

A few weeks ago, a couple other Dark Spyro users and I spread the word about $4.99 Skylanders Giants single packs at BJ's club stores.
I figured it would be a week-long sale ... but to my surprise, this promotion is STILL going, now into its third consecutive week.

If you're looking for any of the following: Whirlwind, Pop Fizz, Fright Rider, Ignitor, Chill, Zook, Terrafin, Slam Bam, or Trigger Happy, a BJ's location near you probably has these all available, at a ridiculously cheap price of $4.99. Of the aforementioned figures, Slam Bam and Terrafin are the most likely to not be in some BJ's stores at this point, but I can almost guarantee the other seven I listed are on the shelf.
They also have a few of the giant-sized figures (Swarm, Bouncer, and sometimes Crusher) for $9.99 during this promotion.

I have no idea when this promo will end. Like I said, I didn't expect it to still be going on this long ... but it is, for now. BJ's changes their promos on Sunday mornings, so you have at least until Saturday night this week to check the stock at a BJ's near you (if there is one near you).

P.S. before anyone asks for the 5th or 6th time ... no, I have not seen series 2 Bash at any of the BJ's stores I've visited. Just the figures I listed above, only.

It's a Skylanders Battlegrounds starter pack, not a Skylanders Giants starter pack. Whether or not a store will allow you to use the coupon for the Battlegrounds starter pack will be up to the cashier and how much attention they're paying and/or how much they care.

I used it at GameStop for the battlegrounds starter pack. So whether or not it is supposed to work on it, it did.

Just Called TRU and here are the current prices:
PS3 = $74.99
Xbox = $74.99
3DS = $74.99
Battlegrounds = $49.99

Your local TRU may have a better deal with the PS3/XBox/3DS.

It'd be great if the coupon worked for the portal owners pack too. I'm waiting for a sale on those like I did with the first game.

Thanks to target, the first game was $39.99 when I got it. With a gift card I got for christmas I was able to get it for $18 after tax. Sadly it seems most of the Giants sales I see are for the Starter Packs, not the portal owners one. Speaking of which, I think Target had the Giants starter packs on sale for $59.99 last time I was there.

I know Sam's club had it on sale and gave u fright rider as a bonus, not sure if that's still on.

Great Find thank you, also notice the price match logo on the bottom, if you plan on purchasing the Starter Pack price challenge Toys R Us, and have them call a local Target, they have the Starter Packs going for $69.99 in stores, with this savings at TRU it will come out to $49.99 before tax.

So basically all of these coupons are useless because you're still paying $55 for it and if you had gotten it at easter at Target you'd have paid $15 less than that AFTER BOTH coupons.

Yes, you are right but if you follow Conquertron advise you can get TRU to price match. Also if the coupon works, you can get the Battlegrounds for $30.

TRU won't price match AND give you their promotion, its either or. So you can't price match AND get the extra $10 TRU is offering with the McDonalds coupon.

While I believe czs716 is correct about our price matching policy, I am more than happy to try, just for giggles, when I get to work (I am a TRU employee, for those unaware) in a couple of hours.

Let me say again, ordinarily its our price/coupons OR their price. The two normally don't intertwine, but I am more than happy to give it a try.

The value of the lost items (the portal and the two figures) is clearly higher than the price difference - something I realized at the time. What I didn't realize is that it's useful to have another portal. And of course the figures are two more figures to play with. If I would have gotten the Starter Pack, I could use the second portal not only as a backup portal, but as a supplemental portal, pairing it with my SSA portal. Very useful for two player and/or using magic items.

Just noticed SSA Starter Pack for 3Ds (including Dark Spyro) is on Amazon for $32.70 + eligible for free shipping currently.

That's a pretty good deal.

Price still good, but already up $3 or so. I'd wish they'd go to $30---that's what I think the game is worth.

Yeah, it appears the same vendor that offered the $32.70 price last night already bumped his price up to $34.77. Still eligible for free shipping; still a decent price.
The secondary market/auction price for Dark Spyro has trended downward, slowly, but consistently, over the past two months. As long as that trend continues, I expect it's possible you will see the $30 price you're hoping for on this 3Ds Starter set soon. However, at *some* point the secondary market/auction price for Dark Spyro will stabilize ... it's just hard to say when or where right now.

Saw a commercial not long ago and double checked on the web.

GameStop has the Giants starter pack for $59.99 AND you get a free single pack (exlcudes LC and Giants). I thinkI'll use my McDonald's coupon and pick one up tomorrow.

I also noted that their Scorpion Striker ad says it's available 30 days before anywhere else. Makes me wonder if the Scorpion Striker pack will make a comeback? I'm rather hoping so as I missed it the first time around in Janurary/Feburary when they had it.
