Skylanders SSA 5 Pack? [CLOSED]

I apologize for the poor image quality, but does anyone know anything definitive about this?

I realize there will be speculation, but I'm looking for a link or source.

I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that when mockups are made, they are done with any available piece of cardboard- usually white- and a mockup 5 pack would be created. I don't believe, however, that this was an intentional Activision mockup.

I also heard somewhere that these were sold somewhere in Europe for a short time in the beginning of SSA.

Perhaps a photo shopped image?

Anyone know for sure?

I am in no way an expert on any of this, but this one seems pretty straight forward. The art on the package doesn't even match the characters. The only one that is actually on both is flameslinger. I call total BS. IMO.

Odd. It looks like it was gonna be released in December, but it got pulled.

So, good news DluA, It's a prototype!

EDIT: Looks like this was gonna be one way to get Whirlwind, as the article says she's exclusive to it.

I remember back then my Walmart had a spot for these. It said Skylanders 5-Pack for $29.96. but the shelf was empty. I asked the employee that was stocking them at the time and they scanned the bar code but had none in stock, eventually the label was removed and they never got any in. Until today I had no idea what it could have been, I thought it was a mistake on the part of Walmart.

The picture you posted is fake. It's a mockup photoshopped image. This is something that went as far as the drawing board and has no physical copy. You thought the image was an actual physical 5 pack?

Why wouldn't I when the exact image and further info is being reported by a Vander Fujisaki dated Nov. of 2011, shortly after the game was released?

Maybe because it clearly looks fake? Or the fact that if it had been a European product it wouldn't have the US peg hole?

I concede that it looks suspicious, thus the reason for my post. Had there not been specific published literature about it, I'd be much more inclined to accept it as a fake...

The account of someone above seeing reference to a 5 pack at Walmart also gives me pause as well...

I've never heard or seen anything about a 5 pack, and guess we've already come to the conclusion of it being fake and all. But if there was a time when they thought of this being a real thing, the idea must've been scrapped a while ago.

The price is 29,99€ ( the coin in Europe ) so thats 39,16$ in the USA.

I'm not saying the idea of there being a 5 pack was fake. Just that the picture you posted is clearly a mockup done in PhotoShop.

I would just find it pretty irresponsible journalism to mockup an image and then report it as an impending store exclusive. I guess we'll have to see what others in the know have to say...
