Hey there fellow skylander-lubbers... lol.

Are you dreading the total of whats been spent on your Skylander collection? I was actually interested to find out, not without a whole lot of pang of guilt though.

getting straight to the point.

Here is my total:

17 ssa single packs (including 2 giants single packs) - $85

2 ssa 3packs (including bash/chop/erupt 3 pack) - $30

2 Giants Hot Heads - $38

2 Sidekicks - $35

Sunburn Adv Pack - $30 (toys r us is a RIPP OFF)

SSA startpack Game - $20, Giants Game - $30

Total: uuugh, guilt pang is panging lol -$268

and to top it off, I spent another $40 to come on the way!! will post picks (and update total)

damn activision is counting ANOTHER $500, 000, 000 dollar profit now!!! (they raked in 500 million in profit from skylander toys)

now tell us your total. and hopefully make me feel better.

EDIT: Also, i feel guilty for spending. But, I actually feel the $268 was money well spent. Easily. (not that I am going to say or think that in the presence of my wife... lol)

Thanks for the honest everyone. Keep those figures coming !

I feel better because everyone is having such a ball spending on such awesome figures.
I actually if I was not married would spend in your vicinity of figures.

I know it was a lot, but it was the best stuff Ive bought in a while (g1 blaster for $25 not withstanding. lol)

If I had the money to spend I'd buy all the variants and stuff from skylanders. gotta go now, out to the shops- skylander hunting too lol

Oh man...I've done this calculation a few times and it never ceases to blow me away.

Total amount spent on Skylanders to date:

Game and figures: $422

Mega Bloks: $76

Skylanders Custom Shelf: $42

Also, upon getting the question from other relatives "What would your son like for Christmas"...Another $121 in gifted Skylanders stuff in our house.

Total: $540 ($661 counting gifts from others)

_______________

To soften the "buyer's remorse" blow I look at it this way:

Birthday 2012: $120

Christmas 2012: $143 ($264 counting gifts from others)

Easter 2013: $57

Christmas/Birthday 2013: $146 (Mega Bloks and 1 character of each element put up for gifting with Swap Force release)

Random Acts of Parently Kindness (including custom shelf): $74

______________

Expensive habit for sure. On a positive note, everyone in the household loves it and, well, it has made the past few occasions easier to shop for from a "know what you are looking for" standpoint. Then again, there is the hunt aspect which made things tricky and at times painful-but that's been the case forever when it comes to the new hot toy to come out. My old man still pains about what he had to go through to get me Super Mario Bros 3 back in the day.

The sad part about seeing somebody from the UK post here, I know even though they spent over £600, which is like more than $900 I bet they got at least half the total number of figures for that amount than the US people did.

I'm well over £300 and it's a tiny collection, I've stopped buying now while I wait for SF to come out as I won't spend any more on S2 and S1 figures.

Ive gotten most of our figures used from craigslist.
The first time was an SSA 360 collection with the portal, game, 26 figures and cards - $120
Bought the rest of SSA used as well $3@.
The second time I got the Giants game, portal and 22 figures and cards for $14
The rest iv bought new. So est $250. The most ive paid over original cost was $20 for a gill runt.
Im probably going to pay more than I want to get Granite, but I consider the rest well spent.

The look on my son's face is priceless
