Ok guys, lots of eyes and ears...the name of the game is to get Boomer at retail and avoid eBay.

Make it happen. Do your stuff. I can't find him and I'm not sure where I need to be looking, but gosh darn it I'm tired of not getting him.

Toys R Us 3 packs - in store (as recent as January here in Mo) - the only times I have ever seen him in the wild.

i got boomer retail when ssa was new...

I got a Boomer from Jekinson's Boardwalk (VERY RECENTLY, about 3 weeks ago) fo 10,000 points, most of which I already had.

Not to mention, he survived Superstorm Sandy!

Pay attention guys...it's not to gloat that you have him...it's to help those who don't have him get him. I need packaged for my set. I have one packaged and one opened but need three more to complement the TRU 4.99 sale last week.

It's gonna be next to impossible to find an in-box Boomer at retail price. I didn't say impossible ... but definitely next to impossible. I've visited hundreds of retail stores in search of Skylanders over the past few months. Not once did I see Boomer.
Ebay and Amazon are really the only places I can say for sure have Boomer in-the-box available ... and the price is at least 5 times retail.

I have not seen Boomer in the wild in and around Philadelphia Suburbs going as far up as Quakertown and far west as Pottstown. If your not in the area....that a big area to cover!

Well, see---I like everyone's reasoning. I had someone tell me that he's available from time to time. If he is, he's probably sold out in seconds. Kinda feeling sick because as early as last September he was going for "only" $18 on ebay. Now it's triple that. I REALLY want Activision to fix this. How are they going to sell their SSA starter packs if they don't make them available?

I suppose it's possible that Boomer could get a re-boot in the 3rd series this fall? Maybe that's the plan? Speculation only.

I'm guessing they simply sold out of stock as others (probably scalpers) realized he wouldn't be in Giants. As you know every other character is available--I'm guessing because they also exist in Giants.

However, I want SSA guys only. The collecting bug thing...but I AM hoping as soon as he's announced Boomer will come out in droves as people try to cash in--because they know people will do exactly as you state. The quantity on the market will drive down prices considerably. I'd still just prefer to walk into a store and buy him--I blame Activision for this.

I don't foresee the walking into a store and buying Boomer thing happening ... although, it is possible ... I would say probably with a less than 1% chance of happening each time you walk into a store.

We can blame Activision if we want to, but from what I understand from others on this forum, we probably have no one to blame but ourselves. Boomer was (allegedly) one of the most unpopular characters during the pre-Giants era of Skylanders. Lots of people claim that Boomer was often the only single pack on the shelves in early 2012 (think what it's like for Series 2 Cynder single packs now, maybe? not sure). So, if Activision stopped pumping out Boomer, we can't really blame them ... Boomer wasn't selling, and I'm sure they heard about it from the retailers who stock Skylanders.

So, can you confirm that the Charlotte area was overloaded with them? I've never seen that, but I also admit my skylanders collecting was lazy in 2011-early 2012.

The fact that he wasn't selling then is irrelevant. They are GONE. Someone's bought them. People still need him. Activision claims that they dont help scalpers, but they should make sure there's a steady inventory of characters.

Back in the days of the Frito Lay promotion...I had 4 Boomers. Who would believe now that he's so impossible to come by. Good luck

Well, I don't have any contacts within Activision, so I can't produce the evidence that you're after for this.
I will say that the manager at the Pineville NC Toys R Us told me that he no longer expects any more shipments of Series 1 characters ever, except for the few 3-packs of Warnado/Ignitor/Camo that are still trickling in, and those will be gone soon.
Target and WalMart are still stocking the Series 1 Adventure Packs here in Charlotte, but that's it for Series 1 (other than Starter Kits).

I think the only semi-realistic chances of finding an in-box Boomer in a retail store are:
A) some random employee at a major retailer locates a long-lost buried box of Series 1 Skylanders in a back corner of the stockroom, and the box just happens to contain Boomers.
B ) some really odd person who has no concept of the secondary market for Boomer decides to return his/her Boomer to a major retailer, who then re-shelves it.
C) some hoarder empties out a room full of random stuff, and gives it all to a Goodwill location, and that random stuff just happens to contain a Boomer.
D) some really remote and infrequently-visited Walgreens location has a Boomer on the shelf that has been gathering dust for over a year.

All of this is a super long-shot, obviously ... but I don't foresee Boomer on a store shelf in-the-box any other way right now. Sorry >.< I will keep looking for your sake!

This is funny. Some guy is selling them on eBay and he just bought like 8 of them from a local Target. So I guess it IS possible. So is winning the lottery.

Yeah, tru seems to be the only folks who still have any stock, and they appear to be leftovers. It would be nice just to get the official word "you're out of luck" from Activision so I can go with plan B if that's the case.

A few months back, JUST when Boomer became rare, I found one, but a little kid was eyeballing it, so I gave it to him.

I found a Boomer 3-pack at TRU about two months back. I passed on it, regretting it now.

Not sure what its like over the but Ebgames take trade in of skylanders, managed to get Boomer from one of them, try GameStop, they own Ebgames so I assume they take trade ins as well.

Just keep on it. In the past month my son and I have snagged a boomer three pack from GameStop.com( zoolert was good to me) and a loose boomer with eight other landers off Craigslist. So you never know when he might pop up.

Good luck finding Boomer in-store, I've not seen any since the last wave of skylanders came out for S:SA- I had 3 boomers at one point but now down to one- which is the original I got when S:SA first came out-

Boomer is pretty elusive now, so the chances of finding one are slim...not impossible, but very slim.
