I've made one thread, this one, asking what my figures are worth. And what it looks like to me is that everyone else in this community wants to be helpful except for you.

Here you go.

Shipping a Skylander out of the box would be cheaper shipping wise than one in the box so that's not an issue. If he, or anyone else for that matter, wants to buy my Boomer then all they have to do is PM me. In fact, I'd get rid of all of my SSA figures if someone would buy them.

Here you go.

You're still not providing a quote of me saying "How much are my figures "worth"?".
If you're going to change your argument then just admit defeat.

Anyways, like I said, if anyone needs any SSA figures and doesn't mind them being out of the box then PM me.

how is "what are my figures worth?" not asking what your figures are worth? You're coming across like like a crazy person Dut. You asked what you're figures are worth. Why is that so hard for you to understand?

And if you think anything unboxed is never worth more than retail, you really are a crazy person with no clue how "worth" works. By your insane troll logic I should sell my rookie Wayne Gretzky card that I pulled out of a pack in 1979 for 15 cents or less since that is what the pack cost and it's open now.

I never asked how much my figures were worth. I asked what the average going price on eBay was for them. Hime said I asked how much they were worth and that I've made multiple threads asking that. Then I replied to him in the same context that he replied to me. Once again never asking how much my figures were worth. When you put words that actually aren't there it just looks foolish and troll like. Now let's drop it because it's gotten tiresome repeating myself over and over.

And comparing a Gretzky card to a Skylander? LOL!

you said and I quote "I [DutRank] made [a] thread... asking how much my figures are worth" those are your words. Stop accusing everyone of "putting words in your mouth" when they quote your exact words.

and I didn't compare a Gretzky card to Skylanders, I made an observation about collectables. One you don't seem to understand. You seem to be under the delusion that only boxed collectables go up in value while used ones do not. Reality says otherwise. You are entitled to your own opinion, however, you are not entitled to your own facts. And the fact is the "worth" of something (anything, collectable, boxed, unboxed, used, not used) is determined by the supply and demand of that thing. It is worth precisely what someone else is willing to pay for it.

Looks like i wont be getting a Boomer after all. According to the lady selling him, someone who knew about the deal offered her more than 15.00 so she took it. Thats kinda depressing. :/

My last time replying about this. You are quoting a "statement" not a "question". The whole issue here was that I ASKED how much my figures were worth. Did I ASK how much my figures were worth? No.

#65 Posted: 16:10:54 28/03/2013
You clearly stated your intention was to find out how much your figures were worth. Doesn't matter if those exact words came out of your mouth because that wasn't the issue and you made it clear what you were doing. You said so yourself. And your last response is one I would expect from a child. "Nuh-uh, I made a statement, not a question".

I think I have been trying to solve an even harder issue than finding Boomer: Finding Boomer's stat card and sticker on their own as we now have the figure but it came without those 2 items. We have all the rest so it would be a "complete the set" deal. I fear it may be mission impossible. Ebay has nothing. In the end it's just a card, but I'd drop a few bucks on one if the opportunity presented itself. So one small e-hunt left in this dog. smilie

Yeah, uh, DutRank, I usually find you make good, excellent contributions to any thread, but in this case it's fail after fail after FAIL, mainly because you're insisting on ignoring the reality that, yes, even opened, you can't find a Boomer for less than like $35, making $15 an excellent find, and also because you try to deny asking for the worth of your figures. I've seen TWO threads where you asked. Nothing wrong with it, not sure why you're trying to deny it, or why you're doing it so hard... And I want to point out that trying to argue wording and definitions comes off as weak. And in the end it's all besides the point. Who cares whether or not you asked for the value of figures? This thread is about whether or not $15 for an open Boomer is a good deal.

As for finding an open Boomer for retail, one might argue that you don't count, as one could suspect that you're only saying it to prove your point. Also general consensus is that OTHER than you, most people don't cling to the opinion that open figures shouldn't be more than retail, especially among sellers. I DO agree with you that one shouldn't pay much over retail for a boxed figure or over retail for an unboxed one, but since SOME people will pay higher, then sellers are and will continue to charge over those values. Even if 90% of people held your opinion, and refused to pay that much, the fact that 10% will means that sellers can get those higher prices, and let's face it, if they can, they will. People always get as much as they can when they sell.

And don't get me wrong... Every time I see a post berating you about the thread where you were talking about selling your figures on eBay, saying stuff like "You spent more money than you should have and now you have to sell", I want to smack them upside the head and yell "Pay attention!", because I find it very clear that it's not that you overspent, it's that money is low at a bad time, when you wanted to buy something. They're just addicted to being vile.

And if you have a Boomer you're willing to sell for $10 + shipping, I would still like a Boomer... smilie

Quote: Tashiji
Although, if shipping costs him anything more than $4.99, then you're wrong again.

Though I mostly agree with you, I want to point out the error in this statement. ANYWHERE you get Boomer right now - unless the lords or furtune smile upon you, and you find him in a store - will need to be shipped. ANYWHERE will include shipping, so you have to take shipping out of it (or always include shipping). There was no mention of the shipping on this $15 figure. And I'm sure DutRank isn't including shipping in his "open figures shouldn't cost more than retail" argument. Okay, some places might ship cheaper than others, but that's why eBay has both a "Lowest price" and "Lowest price + shipping" sort order. You have less control over shipping, mainly just choosing one over the other because it ends up cheaper.

I completely understand how I come off as failing and failing. But the whole point here is that someone said I specifically asked how much my figures were worth. When that is completely false. I've explained over and over again why that is false. And if that is considered failing then so be it. I don't care anymore.

But as to the topic at hand. My Boomer is no longer available. I reached an agreement with dragon on some figures I was willing to part with so he could complete his collection. All with no extra shipping costs to him.

You asked how much the going prices were on eBay, then later specifically said that you were asking how much they were worth by asking that. So what don't you get?

Considering like 2 months ago I sold my extra Boomer (Packaged/sealed) on ebay (and let me make it clear that it was a BID to win- Starting bid was 99 cents). It ended at 47 dollars- after shipping the person paid me over 50 for the figure in total....so yeah I'd say, even opened boomer is worth about 15 bucks, so yeah I'd say its a good deal. - Granted I didn't even THINK I'd end up getting that much for it, I was expecting about roughly 30 at best...

These figures are worth only what said person is willing to pay for it. I'd say given the average that he's gone for, for the past few months, 15 even for a loose one is a amazing deal...
