What the title says. Ive been waiting patiently here in the U.S. and nada. I am planning on buying it from either eBay or Amazon but I wanted to ask you guys first if I should keep waiting.

Keep waiting on what? It's not coming to the US.

Ummm...not going to happen. Think S1 Dark Spyro. Go on eBay and get yours. I just did mine today in fact--got 3 of them coming my way.

Honestly, I wish Activision would be transparent on what's going where to put an end to speculation...good news is most of us collectively have finally figured out the "system" they use so it seems less stressful this time, no thanks to the "great" communication Activision has.

polar and scarlet are in game varients, and so far every in game varient has been in the US and pretty easy to get ahold of.

^ Correct. The key here is that if a figure has the word "exclusive" attached to it, then whatever store has that "exclusive" will be able to sell it in the region where the store is located. For example, Wal Mart has exclusive rights to GITD Sonic Boom, and portal masters elsewhere are feeling the same pain.

With in game variants it looks like Activision is getting an exclusive store in each region. Subtle difference I know, and one I haven't seen a decent explanation on by Activision or Toys for Bob.

they say that polar whirlwind is exclusive to mediamarkt but every single store in my country have her.

GITD fright rider most be europe exclusive is kinda everywhere around here...

^ They nailed it!! Some people get confused by the difference between a chase variant and an in-game variant which is what seems to be happening here... let me try to explain the difference to help you out!

A chase variant is not registered any differently in the game (other than saying the word "Special"), and has the same skin/colour variations in the game as the normal figure. Examples of chase variants would be painted figures, like the Glitter variants, GITD variants, Toy Fair/E3 Exclusives, Rock/Stone and Gold/Silver variants, Snow/Flocked variants, etc.

An in-game variant is part of the "roster list" so to speak, and are listed in the game guide as different figures that make up the complete game. They show up in the game with a different skin/colour variation than the standard figure (example Double Trouble and Royal Double Trouble). They have a different name in the game, unlock different heroics, and are considered as a different character completely.

This is the difference between GITD Fright Rider and Scarlet Ninjini/Polar Whirlwind, and it's a pretty big one. I hope this helps you understand those differences and why Scarlet & Polar are considered in-game variants and will therefore eventually be released in the US. Be patient... I know it can be challenging for us Americans who have gotten every wave at its beginning, lol But they will arrive here, unlike GITD Fright Rider... I'd go buy him online now if you want him!! lol

We went with Jade Flashwing instead of regular Flashwing. Are you saying there's an altogether different heroic for Jade and that we won't get the regular heroic as you would with Flashwing?

Nope the heroics are the same for each character be it jade or normal.

We went with Jade Flashwing instead of regular Flashwing. Are you saying there's an altogether different heroic for Jade and that we won't get the regular heroic as you would with Flashwing?

No, I'm sorry, that is not what I meant at all (I didn't proofread and I see how that came out as confusing now)... the two S2 figures will unlock the same Heroic challenge, but if you have a S1 and the in-game variant of the S2, you will still unlock that challenge... sorry for the run-on earlier, I should have taken the time to break it down better, thanks for pointing that out!!

Yes, I would suggest getting GITD Frighty sooner rather than later since he most likely won't be making his way over here! lol I would wait on Polar for sure, the history of in-game variants has shown that it's just a matter of time before she's over here! I am really excited for Polar, the anticipation's killing me!! lol

You have Exciting issues my friend.....My son said its normal for me to feel that way too.....I will buy Rider and wait on Polar....but be warned. I will haunt you via internet if Polar does not show up in the US. j/k

Chase variants and In Game variants in SG do get recognized in the roster as a separate character --and count as part of your accolades. SG chase variants roster image looks like the S1 avatar and is noted as 'Special'. In Game variants resemble the S2 avatars but is recolored specifically for that character. In game variants have a separate character name (ie Scarlet Ninjini vs Ninjini, Polar Whirlwind vs. Whirlwind). Chase variants look no different in game than their core counterparts, whereas in game variants do. No additional heroics are unlocked for either.

I personally think you should just get it now.

I grabbed mine off ebay, as I never see it coming to Canada or the US. I paid $30 after shipping. And I'm very glad I got it now.
