What is the average or good price? People on ebay can charge ANYTHING they want so technically you cant always go by ebay.

Chrome spyro is extremely rare and always goes for a high price. you would be lucky to get it for $50. My advice: get an extra spyro from, well, anywhere, and paint it. wont look exactly right, but hey, it works!

EDIT: my post had a typo. I meant $500. sorry...

well you are not going to find it anywhere else other then ebay.
and while its true ebay can charge what ever they want, you have to remember that overly priced ones will not sell.
so its safe to go and check completed listing on ebay. (anyone who gives you a estimate, is going to be basing it off of completed listings anyway)

its the rarest of the rarest skylanders and very desired by collectors so its always gonna be costly... so you will pretty much have to pay ANYTHING the seller wants for it.

Yeah, the "overpriced won't sell" argument doesn't work here, with the rarity of the figure there's ALWAYS someone who'll pay the price. If it was me, I'd put the starting bid at $100 and make the auction really long. I think I'd be guaranteed a huge price, well above the $100 starting bid. Some collectors will pay anything.

how dos the "overpriced wont sell" argument not work here?
if one has a price that's much higher then the others on ebay, its just not going to sell.

Wow! I paid $80 for mine a month or so after he came out, and that was a a little out of my comfort zone. Seeing this thread had me checking ebay for his value.... didn't see any that had sold for $500, but I did see a range of $150-$300. Nice to know that if I get in a bind, this guy could help me out a bit.

Go to Ebay, type in the figure you are looking for, highlight and click on "Advanced" to the right of the search, check the box next to "Completed Listings" (third box below the blue search button), then click "Search". Looks like a Chrome Spyro sold for $97 a few days ago, but seems to be in the $120-$200 range normally.

I wonder if it would be cheaper if you go to a metal works shop and really "Chrome" a figure smilie

Chrome Spyro is worthless, since everything will be chrome in the future.

The lowest you can probably find it for is probably 100$ dollars. You'd be lucky to find anything below 500$ dollars though.

Sure, the higher the price the more people will say "No!". But when something is rare and highly coveted, there will still be people who say "Yes!", the collectors who want him no matter what. Just because 90 people out of 100 say no doesn't change that there's still 10 who are saying yes, and the sale completes.

LOL! Nice and subtle. smilie

I'm starting to get the urge to get a Spyro and paint him Chrome, just to have a Chrome Spyro (as fake as it would be). smilie The main thing stopping me is that would mean I have a second Spyro, and I don't want to do it to my only Spyro.

As a suggestion, if you want to make one of your own as a custom it'd be much cheaper and simple, but of course not as good as the real thing.
